Getting An Apartment
Do you need a job to get an apartment? Something Very Big had change with me & my sister, we are no longer talking to each other, she think more stuff about me that not true, she said REALLY HURTFUL things about me, she doesn't want anything to do with me I have money in a trust fund, I asked for money (she in charge of the trust fund) she won't give me money, she sent me money alot of times before, she told me she need the rent information to put it down to track it, I told her already, she keep forgetting, she is more bad at forgetting than me, I really try to remember. I wish I can get my money away from her. Maybe her behavior had something to do with her Bipolar.

Most people need jobs to afford apartments.I dont know if your trust fund has enough to afford apartments. However a lot of apartments require a good credit score.

I maynot have a job, but I do have a great credit score.
No, you don't need a job to rent an apartment, you just need to prove to the whoever is renting it that you can and will pay the rent. They will usually run a background check and have you provide verification that you will be able to pay your rent on time each month. Typically that entails showing them a pay stub or something similar to verify you will have the funds, but it can be anything that puts the renter at ease. I showed my disability deposit statement for my last place and they were happy. As long as you can put them at ease that they can and will get the rent from the trust fund there should be no problem I would think, especially if you could somehow set a monthly autopay for the rent.
I wonder how I'm going fing an apartment on my own, I have Cerebral Pasly & Learning Disabilities too, LD makes everything so much harder for me & can make me feel so stupid. My money in the trust fund won't last, my mom made the trust before she died almost 12 years ago, I wish I can invest money. What is a disability deposit statement?

The federal government made me get a bank account where they direct deposit my disability/social security check each month. When asked for verification of my income I show my monthly bank statement which shows the deposit, which is always accepted as valid proof.
As for finding an apartment I would strongly recommend finding some outside help to assist and guide you towards something that works best for you, your finances, and your health. Where you choose to go for that assistance really depends on you, your situation, what you are comfortable with, and who you feel can help you the most with your situation. Letting them know about things such as your health, financial, and employment issues are important because each can open or close access to support and apartments.
Assistance can come from many different sources, ranging from federal, state, county, city, and even private/non-profit. Each have their own set of rules and regulations that govern who and how they can help so it might be best to check them all out at first and see which one can and will be able to best assist you in finding an apartment that suits your needs and resources. Assistance can also come in many different forms, from merely helping you find an apartment that fits your situation to providing financial assistance and/or rent reduction when and if needed.
Federally the first place to check is US Dept of Housing and Urban Development. It is the best place to start as it provides access to the listings of the housing assistance programs in your region of the US.
The Department of Social and Health Services in your state is also a good place to seek guidance and assistance, especially if we might need financial assistance. They can and often do tend to be very invasive and controlling into your personal life if the do give financial or health assistance.
Regionally and locally are the housing assistance programs, or housing authorities. These are all ran and operated separately by counties and/or cities which means that some have more resources and apartments than others. You will have to contact and apply to each one separately for an apartment, and usually there is a waitlist ranging from months to several years depending on needs and resources available. Many have several different options for apartments for various needs such as medical or other such support.
There are also private and non profit resources that may be available around you. Some of these nonprofits get HUD assistance, which is why it can be beneficial to start with HUD to make things a little easier starting your search. Others are completely private and may only be available through specific methods. There are churches that I have seen who offer assistance to people in need, some to the general public and others only to their members.
The hardest thing I have found is that this whole process takes lots of time, patience, and can be really frustrating sometimes. It can be scary and difficult at times, but luckily much of it can be done online and by phone in today's world. Once you are able to find someone to help and they understand your resources and needs it can and often does get a lot easier, but it still takes time and patience.
