The Cape Cod teenager who pleaded guilty to the attempted drowning of a black peer in a pond while spewing a racial slur escaped jail time during his sentencing Wednesday.

Chatham, Mass. resident John Sheeran, 15, will serve probation and around 700 hours of community service after he copped to attempted murder and assault with a dangerous weapon charges in December, his lawyer confirmed to The Post in an interview.

He will also be required to attend an online educational class and write an apology letter to the victim. If he reoffends before Feb 4, 2028, he could be taken into custody.

Huh? he actually said in court he intended to kill the other child?? while also spewing racist taunts. Am I living in crazy world or something? what is the chance this little devil is going to re-offend? what also happened to justice and hate crime bills? some judge deliberately have amnesia and thought he was living in 1925 not 2025.

Tell me the violent criminal is white without telling me.

Judge - He's young from "good stock" and can be rehabilitated

unless he gets a heart, he has a distant future in a very bad place.

All this does is teach him he can get away with psychotic behaviour derived from deeply flawed thinking and be able to do it again.
