U.S. News and World Report conducted a poll last September, asking Americans [and other nations] if they agreed with the following statement: "My country's leader should have total, unchecked authority."

57.4% of those polled said they agreed. let that sink in. over half said they would be ok with what amounts to being in a dictatorship. what has happened to us?

problem is, that once a citizenry shuns their democracy and lets it slip away, it seldom comes back without external help.

What's worse is that 78% of X account holders think that Musk appointing a known racist madman to access private financial information of millions of US citizens is a good idea.
