Perhaps, but it's awfully convenient, silencing Oswald.

Not really, the conspiracy theories blaming the government remain and a trial might well have put the matter to bed. A lot of the reason for the conspiracy theories is the lack of a thorough airing of the evidence.

If Oswald had to go, then Ruby logically would have to as well. And there hasn't been any credible people coming forward to accept responsibility either.

then the last question was whether Oswald knew there were other snipers?
the conspiracies have sub-conspiracies, after Oswald left the book depository he was confronted by Office tippett whom he "allegedly" shot and killed. I say allegedly as there is some dispute who actually witnessed Oswald kill tippett. Perhaps ballistics was bought to to the Warren commission which showed the bullets came from Oswald's rifle (here i am a little confused as I thought Oswald left his Carcano rifle in the book depository?).

Looks like the two shooter scenario is going to be the theme of the JFK files

Might need an entire re-write of the JFK assassination

That assumes there were other snipers. The evidence I've seen on that is based on faulty audio analysis and models from decades back when they couldn't be as sophisticated in what they mode.

Having other snipers makes it even harder to justify the lack of anybody letting slip the sort of concrete information that it would take to positively bust the conspiracy.

Did you watch the video of Josiah thomson? the unpublished report in 1969 using forensic data ignored by the Warren commission came to the conclusion there were 2 shooters (that's what Luna is alluding to in the 2nd video).
In addition to the audio there were
1. Multiple witnesses around the road and near the grasss who claimed a shot was fired from the grassy knoll
2. 3 key witnesses (railroad workers) who were able to view the grassy knoll who saw men standing on the grassy knoll and saw a puff of smoke when the shots were fired
3. A photo that shows the shadow of a man standing exactly on top of the grassy knoll behind the fence
4. Police who claim there were two secret service agents behind the grass knoll who showed their ID which was denied by the secret service
5. Ballistics (magic bullet theory) which makes Oswald's bullet unlikely to have caused the damage to JFK's head
6. Evidence ignored by the Warren commission that the two motorcycle cops behind Kennedy were hit with shrapnel which later turned out to be Kennedy's brain. One cop was hit so hard he assumed he was shot with a bullet and made his way to the grassy knoll where he swore what he thought a bullet came from
7. autopsy evidence of Kennedy's brain case which makes it clear the damage was to the front (not the back) which supports the image of the Zapruda film.

Nearly every person who watches the Zapruda film can see (we all have eyes) that JFKs head rocks back (not forward) which people with eyes logically (and correctly) interpret as being hit by a bullet from the front (not from behind from the book depository where Oswald was lurking).

When taken in conjunction with the audio (which does pick up what sounds like a gun firing from the grassy knoll) the evidence is really undeniable (infact it's impossible not to interpret it any other way). Its highly suspicious the Warren Commission chose to ignore the evidence in number 6 and 7 which shows they were either really sloppy or acted with expediency to ensure one outcome from the hearings.

You're making too much of the people that think there were shots from elsewhere. Kennedy was pretty clearly hit from behind, the exit wounds were on the front and if you watch the Zapruder film, that's clearly where the exit wound was.

The folks lurking around are not significant as that's clearly not where the bullets come from if you trust the audio analysis, video and the various experts that studied it. The exit wounds on Kennedy were all oppositish the depository with some deviation due to just the weird way that bullets can bounce around once in the body ricocheting off bones and the like.

As far as the magic bullet theory goes,it's likely that there were 3 shots that hit people in the car. That's what governor Conally thought happened, and while that would be difficult, it's not necessarily impossible, just hard to do with accuracy that quickly. The autopsy report shows the bullet entering through the rear and exiting towards the front, which would also be consistent with the bullet being shot by Oswald.

In short, there really isn't any question that Kennedy was shot from behind. If there were multiple snipers, they were all in or near the same part of the book depository, not the grassy knoll which would have been completely the wrong position to fire the bullets that caused the wounds that were left.

As interesting as this all is, the actual reality, the one that's supported by the evidence in hand is that he was shot by a bullet coming from the Texas Book Depository by Oswald who was subsequently shot by Jack Ruby in the police station. There's just so much irrelevant information that people trot out, and we know reliably from the video and from the autopsy report that he was shot from behind. And while it is a bit of a stretch to get two accurate shots off so quickly with that rifle, it's not necessarily impossible either.

In what is the most sober, insightful interviews I've seen on the JFK assassination; author of "Last second in Dallas" Josiah Thomson lays out a indisputable case for Kennedy being assassinated by 2 and up to 3 assassins with the fatal shot coming from the now famous grassy knoll. Thomson has studied and published on the JFK assassination without pause since 1963 making it 62 years now. I was on the fence, but this video convinced me of a government conspiracy.

Thompson makes it clear the newly released JFK files will contain nothing new because they government conspired to keep the truth from the public.

"Indisputable" means "the person looking at it is not smart enough to dispute it". It doesn't mean that there is any truth to the claim.

Conspiracy theorists are nothing more than people who want a lazy approach to knowledge so they dont' have to even think about it. They think that anything they can imagine must be true regardless of the actual facts.

There is nothing about them to take seriously.

I'll dive deeper - here's a photo of Bobby Hargis, he police officer on he left hand side of the JFK motorcade

Image

Bobby Hargis was the DPD motorcycle officer on the left rear bumper of the President’s car. He mentions in his Warren Commission testimony he was struck by blood and brain matter.

Hargis was splattered by blood and debris during the assassination. He parked his motorcycle and remained in Dealey Plaza in the aftermath. Here is his testimony before the Warren Commission at page 294:

Image

Billy Hargis said that the brain matter hit his motor cycle windshield so hard he thought he had been shot. A section of the occipital region of Kennedy’s skull was blow out and on to the trunk of the car. Jackie attempted to climb out on the trunk and grab it. SS agent Clint Hill ran up to the nearly-stopped car and jumped on and pushed her back in her seat.

Now for a) officer Hargis to be hit and b) for the skull to be blown out over the trunk (rear of the vehicle) the bullet could not have been coming from the book depository. Had the fatal shot come from behind then JFKs brain matter would be all over the windscreen and the bonnet of Kennedy's car. Hargis would not have one drop of blood on him.
