I'm sorry for bringing up a lot of triggering topics lately, but I'm at my limit. The groomer ruined these fandoms for me, and the normal fans hate me and think I'm an annoying b*tch. Also I'm a huge feminist and I hate how Sega is making underaged female characters fanservice (or at least an Instagram account said 18 was a minor because it was a high school age).

I wish I wasn't groomed both when I was 10 and 15...

It might seem logical to turn to feminism as a counter to abuse and exploitation. However, there can be a militancy that can foster bitterness and hostility that can fester in one's heart.

Having been abused, I can testify that being able to let go is the ultimate freedom.

Grooming is particularly insidious. In addition to the negative things done, positive developmental steps were neglected. This results in a sort of two layer harm.

There is evil in the world. While we can vote for and even work for legislation to limit the harm evil people do, it is unlikely that we will be able to make much of a dent in that evil. Making oneself a crusader can tie you to that which continues to cause harm.

It maybe more beneficial to focus on replacing the evil that was done to you with the positive which would have otherwise been developed. Don't let the poison from the past keep you from healing now.

Not all abuse is 100% recoverable. Sometimes we carry a bit of a "limp" like someone who was hit by a car. However, we do not have to carry that which continues to hurt us.

Feminism:

Quote:
belief in and advocacy of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes expressed especially through organized activity on behalf of women's rights and interests

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/feminism

With that definition in mind, I’m also a feminist.

Survivors of abuse have different paths to healing. One person’s approach may not be right for another. Some find it empowering to push back against systems of oppression and fight for change. I don’t think one path is superior to another. It’s about what works for you.

Whether 18 is still considered a minor or else exploited as being 'barely legal', it's still misogynistic. You're right to pick up on that.

I wish you weren't, too.
