Maybe it's just me but this album has always been the red headed stepchild of The Pearl Jam catalogue. No Code was released in 1996. I recall this album getting mixed reviews, some just didn't get it and it left some fan puzzled.
Myself, I really like it. It's a bit of a cluttered mess but that's what makes it interesting, and it has kind of a mellow vibe to it, mostly. Like REM did, Pearl Jam has not been afraid to try new things and do something different each time.
Favorite tracks are- Smile, Off he goes, and present tense. I'm open is a spoken word track and it's a bit of an odd story but I really like it.
