to quote the British royal family - "keep calm and don't panic"
I'm afraid nothing turns people off more than desperation.

Desperation makes you anxious and too eager. Something I wish I knew when I was young.

Do you want to get married, or just date?

I didn't get married until I was 32 and didn't have much dating experience before. My best friend from high school didn't get married until he was 43. Both of our marriages seem to be working out pretty well.

Just to date rather than getting married but I seem to as someone in my 30s I can't hang around dating unlike if you were 20 or 25 and that I've got to settle soon when it seems like I am clearly not mentally ready to settle down.

It's important to be in the right frame of mind to be prepared to settle down. Not to mention be prepared financially.

Please take your time. the only issue might be your biological clock if you want kids, otherwise just be patient and let things develop.

No not at all, well except for viewing marriage as voluntary imprisonment

I am just so TIRED of the media & society constantly propping up marriage, sex, motherhood etc like their end goal is to get EVERYONE IN THE WORLD married and have children!! !

It's a conspiracy...

I don't know if it is a biological clock or just being too over aware of time. I don't know if men go through the same mentality as women with the feeling the need to start having kids their mid/late 20s onwards.
