North Korea invaded south.

We're talking about Ukraine and Russia.

Same...do you think Ukraine is more important than South Korea?

Many US veterans died fighting this same type of ideology I believe .
Sad day for the USA ..Am not understanding why the Orangeman has not been impeached yet ? In my days people
whom behaved as Trump did were referred to as Commie Lovers. Not very woke, am sorry but I grew up in a Democracy. Russia started attacking Ukraine . Now the Ukrainians just wish to be able to have their own country.
Back ? :ninja: ....Why does this madman , not see this. ? :skull: The Republican that critiqued Zelenskis choice of clothing in that meeting ..Needed to be taken out back to the shed and given a good paddling on his behind .
No excuse for that behaviour in a adult meeting !

Russia has not been Communist for decades, it is a kleptocracy, similar to us. When Trump looks at Putin he sees himself. Trump sees the world in a 1800s type of way where the strongest countries had empires and made deals with other empires for the mutual benefit of both parties. In his mind the Russian empire is all of Eastern Europe, The Jewish Empire all of the mideast, The American Empire Canada, Finland etc.

We had several ways of describing people like Trump, bullies, as*holes, a person who needs to be committed to an institution.

This is not about Trump loving Putin it’s about Trump being butthurt that Zelenskyy dares to resist Trump attempt steal Ukraine’s natural resources.

Trump is the schoolyard bully who got away with everything because classmates joined in either because they are sadists who enjoy tormenting the weak, or they were intimidated by the bully. In order to be impeached and convicted you need congress to go along and right now the Republican Party is the equivalent of the class that lets the bully get away with everything for those two reasons. Republicans politicians know resistance is futile as all the never Trump Republicans and Conservatives have been primaried out or quit before that happened.

Up until now the forced out never Trump people at least had platforms like
MSNBC and the Washington Post. Those doors are closing because their owners have figured out
resisting Trump is a money losing proposition and are bending the knee. If you don’t know what I am talking about Google or AI Jeff Bezos and MSNBC shakeup.

Right now pretty much everyone who is appalled by Trump be they never Trump conservatives, moderates, neoliberals, old school liberals, wokes etc are both exhausted and at a loss over what to do because most every option that has been tried to stop Trump over the past decade has eventually failed.

It's not the same - this isn't a civil war. We're talking about a sovereign country being invaded by its neighbour. And no, Ukrainians aren't Russians.

At what point does "compromise" become "capitulation"?
Other parts of Europe will be next.

I'm sorry people, you all seem to be missing much of the historical truth behind this war. This war didn't start in a vacuum, nor was Trump president when it started.

World reacts after Donald Trump, JD Vance berate Ukaine’s Zelenskyy

Quote:
European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas

Kallas said it was clear that “the free world needs a new leader”.

“Ukraine is Europe! We stand by Ukraine,” Kallas said in a social media post.

“We will step up our support to Ukraine so that they can continue to fight back [against] the aggressor,” she added. “Today, it became clear that the free world needs a new leader. It’s up to us, Europeans, to take this challenge.”

French President Emmanuel Macron

Macron told reporters in Portugal that Russia is the “aggressor” in the Ukraine war and Ukrainians are the “aggressed people”.

“I think we were all right to help Ukraine and sanction Russia three years ago, and to continue to do so. We, that is the United States of America, the Europeans, the Canadians, the Japanese and many others,” Macron said.

“And we must thank all those who have helped and respect those who have been fighting since the beginning. Because they are fighting for their dignity, their independence, their children and the security of Europe. These are simple things, but they’re good to remember at times like these, that’s all,” he added.

Norway Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere

Stoere condemned the events in the White House as “serious and disheartening.”

“Ukraine still needs the US’s support, and Ukraine’s security and future are also important to the US and to Europe.

“President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has strong support in Ukraine, broad support in Europe, and he has led his people through a very demanding and brutal time, under attack from Russia. That Trump accuses Zelenskyy of gambling with World War III is deeply unreasonable and a statement I distance myself from,” he said in a statement to Norwegian TV2.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk

“Dear Ukrainian friends, you are not alone,” Tusk posted on X.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez

“Ukraine, Spain stands with you,” Sanchez, wrote on X.
Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini

“Aim for PEACE, stop this war! Come on @realDonaldTrump”, Salvini wrote on X.

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson

“Sweden stands with Ukraine. You are not only fighting for your freedom but also for all of Europe’s. Slava Ukraini!” he wrote on X.

EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen

Von der Leyen posted a message of solidarity with Zelenskyy, writing on X: “Your dignity honors the bravery of the Ukrainian people. Be strong, be brave, be fearless.”

Norwegian Oil and Shipping Company Announces Immediate Halt as Fuel Provider to U.S. Forces and Ships in Norway Ports

Quote:
We have today been witnesses to the biggest s**tshow ever presented “live on tv” by the current American president and his vice president.

Huge credit to the president of Ukraine restraining himself and for keeping calm even though USA put on a backstabbing tv show. It made us sick. Short and sweet. As a result, we have decided to immediate STOP as fuel provider to American forces in Norway and their ships calling Norwegian ports.

“No Fuel to Americans!”

We encourage all Norwegians and Europeans to follow our example. SLAVA UKRAINA

Bravo Norway! The whole EU should do the same and cut off the orange monkey. Tesla's shares have been falling already, the rest can follow.

Wowwwww. One or two more like this, and it starts that effect where everyone else begins to follow. I wonder how this will affect the American administration.

Compromise with a bully IS capitulation.
And Trump supporters are nothing if not slaves to the bully mentality.
Hence why they think you can treat other countries however the hell you want and then call them unreasonable when they react logically to bullying.
Hence why they think Trump will make people respect America by looking down at them. Tens of millions of people in my country think bullying is a way to gain respect. Call me crazy, but I feel compelled to spit in their faces.

Considering Russia's rejection of liberal democracy along with their expansionist policies regarding former its republics, it's understandable why former parts of the Soviet Union and its satelites have been requesting NATO membership. If anything, Putin's been pushing these countries into NATO.
Regardless, the NATO encroachment argument that makes Russia the actual good guy is just a pretext for Putin to gobble up his neighbors in order to rebuild the Russian Empire. It's no secret that Putin sees the fall of the Soviet Union as his country's greatest tragedy, and that he wants to destroy the west, in particular the United States, for revenge.

Yes Putin has done the wrong thing and committed Russia to an intractable conflict. And beyond Donbas he has expanded the so called buffer zone well into Ukrainian territory killing innocent civilians. But Putin isn't Hitler. He doesn't pose a threat to the rest of Europe. He is megalomaniac and nationalist who wanted to be seen Like Ivan the terrible as a saviour of Donbas Russians and would rather throw his own people to their deaths than retreat. Sanctions won't work.

I think unless Zelensky compromises, this will be a permanent state of affairs in Ukraine. My message to Europe is enjoy the ride down the gurgler.

Protesters target JD Vance in Vermont after clash with Zelensky

Quote:
Protesters in the US have lined a road in Vermont that Vice-President JD Vance was due to drive down following his and President Trump's angry exchange with Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House.

They held up pro-Ukraine signs on the route in Waitsfield that Vance and his family were expected to take on their way to go skiing.

US media reported the family moved to an undisclosed location from their planned ski resort because of the demonstrations.

Hundreds of people also gathered in New York, Los Angeles and Boston on Saturday to express their support for Ukraine - a day after the furious row in the Oval Office.

A protest in Waitsfield against the Trump-Vance administration had been organised earlier in the week - before the US president and vice-president's clash with Zelensky - but many signs referenced the row and Russia's war with Ukraine.

"I think [Friday's] performance at the White House has probably galvanised even more people to come out today," Judy Daly, from Indivisible Mad River Valley, the group which organised the protest, told Vermont Public Radio.

"[Vance] crossed the line," protester Cori Giroux added.

Ahead of the Vance family's trip, Vermont's governor Phil Scott had urged people to "be respectful" to them.

Scott, the Republican governor who refused to vote for Trump, said: "I welcome the vice-president and his family to Vermont and hope they enjoy their weekend here”.

There's no such thing as an unbiased view and Firstpost pretty consistently shows pro-Modi and pro-Russian biases in their reporting.
