A story that is now capturing world attention is the mysterious disappearance of US college student Sudiksha Konanki



A massive search for Konanki entered its 10th day on Sunday, with hundreds of law enforcement personnel involved, including from the FBI, the US Department of Homeland Security and the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office from her hometown in Virginia.

According to police, Konanki and Riibe, along with her friends, stumbled out onto the beach at the upscale resort shortly after 4 am on March 6, but later left the pair alone and returned to the hotel.

Surveillance video from the RUI resort shows the two holding hands and staggering arm-in-arm while taking a selfie on a walkway to the beach in the hours before Konanki disappeared. Riibe allegedly told investigators that the two went into the water but were caught in the rough surf, and said he pulled Konanki to safety but passed out after swallowing water during the ordeal.

He said he asked Konanki if she was okay before passing out.

“It took me a long time to get her out, it was difficult,” Riibe told officials, according to a transcript obtained by Noticias SIN. “I was a lifeguard in the pool, not in the sea.

“The last time I saw her I asked if she was ok,” he allegedly said. “I didn’t hear her answer because I started vomiting all the sea water I had swallowed”

There seems to be 5 possibilities
1. Riibe strangled Sudiksha and her body was caught in the rip and pulled out to sea
2. Riibe and Sudiksha both went into the sea and were washed out and Riibe made up the story to cover up her drowning
3. Riibe did rescue her but could not remember she was still in shallow water and she was dragged out again by the rip
4. Riibe did rescue her and she walked off as he claimed and she returned for another swim
5, Riibe did rescue her and she walked off as he claimed and she was kidnapped

there are several inconsistencies/variables with the whole story
- Riibe initially gave a different account and changed his story after talking to lawyers
- Riibe claimed he didn't have a phone but he can be seen in security cameras taking selfies with the missing girl
- the friends took Sudiksha's phone and keycard and left her with Riibe at 4am in the morning on the beach
- Riibe returned to the hotel at 5am without his shirt and not reporting the incident to anyone
- the hotel is possibly liable since a few weeks earlier 4 foreign tourists were pulled out by a rip yet no warning signs were posted on the beach?
- the bodies of the 4 tourists were found within hours of drowning but after 10 days Sudiksha's body is still missing which now authorities are becoming suspicious, particularly since her shawl was not recovered, the kidnapping scenario is now becoming more possible, but it hinges on Riibe's claims being true

Riibe's passport has been confiscated and he's been held by Dominican police continuing to assist them with their investigation. Until Sudiksha is found the case is turning into another Maddie Mcann story.

the parents of the missing girl have now acknowledged she likely drowned, paving the way for 22 yr old Riibe to be released and allowed to return home.


One lingering concern is the lack of a body after 13 days, normally drowning victims are found within 24hrs.
