Google Appscript (google Drive / Documents etc)

I am trying toget my head round Google Appscript - google Drive / Documents etc. Functionally it is similar to VBA but the language is Javascript.
Today's challenges are

• Got down a column of a spreadsheet listing all the values
• Listing the files in a folder (and later recursing to make a tree)

I used to be good at getting carried away writing things by a combo of RTFM and experimentation, (one of my bosses was OK, another was a micromanager!)

Havent got much further on this.... rephrase I have made a bit of a sensible detour and am looking at other JavaScript projects.
i am a keen amatuer singer and have writtend something to help me with breathing exercises. trouble is I tend to get obsessed with a detailed project and find I dont actually do the thing that would give me benefit.
