Counteracting transphobia
I can find a lot on this and a lot of polls in major Western countries are all returning results that about 40% of young adults are identifying that they are "LGBTQ", that they are "not Heterosexual," "not straight".
https://www.newsweek.com/nearly-40-percent-us-gen-zs-30-percent-christians-identify-lgbtq-poll-shows-1641085
If I'm playing Devil's Advocate, i would say I think in this day and age that maybe younger people just think it's cool or sympathetic to say they are non-binary to check this box and say they are not straight or non-binary, like this is now somehow MORE socially desirable in some way than just being straight and boring. On the other hand though, to take it at face value, it would be rather concering as to why so many people no longer want to take partners of the opposite gender and want to have offspring, things of this nature; like has otherwise been the norm for all of human history.
I just don't buy that there isn't something else out-of-the-ordinary going on that isn't causing a transformation this dramatic in sexuality, like frogs or something like thing. Even just doubling from 1 in 10 to 1 and 5 would be a startling spike, in my opinion, to where one should start asking questions. I just never see or saw though that at ANY other time in human history, there was this much trouble and this much hullaballoo around gender identification, as opposed to everyone being men and women, and I don't think it was the case back in 1880 or so that everyone back then was repressing a bunch of crazy s**t like this like they all secretly wanted to be some animal-gender or something, but I think everyone back then was still mostly just "men and women."

It would appear that different polls are giving wildly different results. The above-linked Newsweek article is primarily about a poll by George Barna. But the Newsweek article also says:
The Newsweek article then contrasts Barna's poll with the Gallup poll:
Polling is not an exact science, alas.
And, of the various polls we've looked at so far in this conversation, Barna's poll seems to be an outlier.
A person who is a "1" on the Kinsey scale does desire, primarily, a partner of opposite sex/gender.
It is true that a lot of people (including a lot of heterosexual people!) in today's world don't want to have kids, but that is for other reasons, such as the way the economy is structured. If you are worried that not enough people are having enough children, then, instead of worrying about LGBTQ+ people, it would make more sense to consider the practical reasons why it is so difficult for people to care for children in today's world. The latter is a huge problem here in the U.S.A., probably less so in Western Europe, though still a problem there too, apparently.
Attitudes toward same-sex erotic relationships have varied from one culture to another, and through history. There have been many cultures in which same-sex relationships were accepted in at least some contexts. See, for example, Homosexuality in the militaries of ancient Greece. And one of the world's oldest known works of literature, the Epic of Gilgamesh, appears to be a gay superhero love story.
Transgender and gender-nonconforming people have always existed too, and have traditionally been allowed to exist and express their gender identity in some cultures, at least in some limited contexts, often religious. See, for example:
- Hijra (South Asia) -- an ancient tradition of the Indian subcontinent, still existing in today's world.
- The Gallae: Transgender Priestesses Of Ancient Rome
- Enaree (Scythian androgynous priests)
- Ishtar: A Genderfluid Goddess

Of course more people in the older generations are still reporting more "normal" percentages of being gay/LGBTQ like I would hypothesize is about right, but the Millienails are reporting 30% or so and Gen-Z is reporting 40% and up to %50.... while the older generations were reporting down to the Kinseian #. But the question is why is this dramatic change in biology and/or brain-chemistry with the dramatic implications this has for the human race now happening in the younger generations, and also the woke leading rulership seems absolutely completely unconcerned about these transformations and even giddy about them ?
I guess what I'm trying to say perhaps is that we've never seen these transformations happening publicly and this sort of thing with so many gender identities is proliferated to this extent, when before it was just "men and women" and i just literally don't think this was a problem with anyone for the vast, vast majority of time, even if there was homosexuality in Ancient Greece and they have stuff like a 3rd feminine-male gender in small Pacific Island cultures and such like this. i just frankly think it's all ridiculous and also heavily artificial and a very recent creation that's designed for some kind of power.

These it’s a fad or it is a way thinking of oneself as cool are also the accusations against those of us who call ourselves autistic.
I will play devil’s advocate and say in this day and age for young people non traditional gender identities and sexual orientations are not status symbols but are seen as normal variations such as being outgoing. This might be hard to grasp for millennials who grew up when these were less accepted. Being 67 growing at during time these were not accepted I understand that. I am just getting used to the term “queer” being seen as a descriptor not a slur on par with the n-word. The whole gender fluidity concept I find very hard to grasp. In other words the problem is me not them.
Taking off the devil advocate mask I think the dramatic changes we have seen are a result of multiple factors including the ones proposed in this thread. I have no clue as to which factors are the primary factors. I do know the political polarization around this topic with so many people being so sure they just know is greatly inhibiting finding the truth.

I think I would never insult or slander a regular person that manifests some traits like these; someone that's not a wealthy elite that has some kind of agency over all this.... I see it as a lot of regular people are just now victims of the larger culture, in-my-opinion, and what's been pushed the last 15 years or so surreptitiously in schools and such by Education systems that have an agenda, and overzealous and over-educated educators and people like psychoanalysts that have an agenda in these regards.
A lot of this though is like what I said, the Elites at the very high-levels already had these ideas for decades, and much of this is just getting passed down now into commoners, who otherwise only had regular tastes like who otherwise would only listen to Country Music and stuff like this. A lot of this though like at the higher level and very highest level, the brain has been seriously warped for a very long time, and now they want everyone to become like them.

While there is a lot of bullying there are a lot opponents who are genuine in their sympathy to people they feel are mentally ill victims. Telling people you are not who you think you are but only think that you are because you have been manipulated will offend a lot of the people you are trying to help.

Judging by the surveys we have looked at so far, different surveys give different results, both for millennials and for Gen Z, perhaps depending on precisely how the question is asked. As we discussed here, young people even back in 2015 were giving answers close to 50% to a question that was asked in terms of the Kinsey scale, i.e. being "not 100% heterosexual" (emphasis mine).
Being "100% heterosexual" would mean that a person has never had even a single same-sex erotic fantasy in one's entire life. However, the majority of "not 100% heterosexual" folks are still primarily heterosexual (1 or 2 on the Kinsey scale).
Do you even understand what the Kinsey scale is? (See articles about it on Wikipedia and the Kinsey Institute itself.)
Even the Kinsey reports, done way back in the 1940's and 1950's, gave what you would likely consider to be very high percentages, at least for men. According to the above-linked Wikipedia article: "11.6% of white males aged 20–35 were given a rating of 3 for this period of their lives. The study also reported that 10% of American males surveyed were "more or less exclusively homosexual for at least three years between the ages of 16 and 55" (in the 5 to 6 range)."
There has been no dramatic change in biology and/or brain-chemistry. People are just freer now to be more public about sexual orientations that are not 100% heterosexual.
Deliberate change to people's sexual orientation (either one's own or other people's) is something that just can't be done (although some people's sexual orientation does spontaneously evolve). For many decades during the 20th century, there were many failed attempts at conversion therapy, to turn gay people into heterosexuals. It didn't work (although there are still some grifters who claim to be able to do it). So it's highly unlikely that anyone can deliberately convert people in the opposite direction either.
Also, you clearly are very ignorant about the actual history of the LGBTQ+ community and the LGBTQ+ rights movement.

Your claims do indeed amount to slander of the individuals. Not only are your claims simply wrong, but people who believe claims like yours tend to advocate policy changes that would make the lives of many LGBTQ+ people much harder than they would otherwise be in today's world. So your claims are both false and harmful to many individuals. Thus, they are indeed slander against the many "regular" people "that manifest some traits like these."
What has been promoted in many public schools is not that people should become LGBTQ+, but that they should accept people who are LGBTQ+ -- as well as people of ethnic minorities, etc. There is nothing wrong with this, except in the eyes of people who want a culture of intolerance toward minorities, or who have been panicked by right wing scaremongers into believing that a culture of acceptance somehow harms their children.
