Hi,

I’m new and not great at introductions. I started the local county IDD process two years ago, after several years of suspicion, and was finally approved (they had issues with my mum, thus the delay) just two days ago. Coincidentally right after emailing them about an update.

I found these forums years ago, but felt like an outsider without something official. (Perhaps because I am a high masking woman. Though an easily exhausted one that spends most of my time alone).

Posting here in the hopes of making acquaintances/friends that won’t suddenly stop talking to me after I say or do something awkward.

You are from Cascadia. Where is that?
It is a fictional country. This country or region largely would consist of the Canadian province of British Columbia and the U.S. states of Washington, Idaho and Oregon.

You wrote that your diagnosis was: Asperger's Syndrome. I have that condition also. I call myself an Aspie.

You listed your occupation as Disabled Hobo-bobobo
and your interests as Stuff, things, a bit more stuff and a few things,

I almost laughed. You might be one of the most smartest people in the room.

I think you found the right place.

I don’t mind.

It’s a bioregion, and was culturally a region before “manifest destiny” and I like the name. Though I do try to ignore the fact that Idaho exists.

I actually tried to change that to general spectrum. We don’t have an Aspie diagnosis here. I am “high support needs” as it were.

I may be a genius, technically, but I’m pretty dumb in my experience.

It’s seeming pretty nice thus far. Nothing but a few positive replies to my post? No one trolling or doing some kind of laugh react. ^,.^
