I don't know if anyone here is a big baseball fan. I'm not really a huge fan of baseball but over the years I've been following it. Since I'm from NYC I follow the New York Yankees.
For anyone here who follows baseball and knows of the New York Yankees, what's your reaction to the deal that was offered to Joe Torre to stay one more year on the team?
I'm very disappointed about this whole situation. They kept Joe Torre hanging for over a week without any word about whether or not he's going to be asked back. Then they offer him (without any negoitations) a one year deal with includes a paycut and so called incentatives. I think this is insulting. Here's a man who turned around this team, helped the team won many world series titles, many championships, helped put the New York Yankees back on the map and was able to get team (this year) into the championship after so many problems and Steinbrenner and his crew have the nerve to offer this man a deal like this. As sad as I am to see Joe Torre leave, I'm very upset that the Yanks would offer a deal like this to someone like Torre and not even negoitate.
Before I go on and on with this, what's everyone else's reaction?
