Looking for Life sims

I love choose-your-own-adventure like games where you are living out an individuals day-to-day life. For example, I LOVE Alter Ego and Virtua School, and wish I could find more like them. The Sims series is great, but lacks the personal decisions aspect that I love about the above. So I beg of you, recommend me some life sims.

Jones in the Fast Lane? This game is very short, but for a while it's quite fun. Alter Ego rocks, BTW! 8)

I've kinda already played that, back when Home of the Underdogs still had it up for download. Thanks for trying, though.

I've looked at that entry before, and already tried the ones that match my rather specific interest. At least i've found a label for it, Social Sim. I'm not interested in online games, either. My ideal is a choose-your-own-adventure\selectable choices type of gameplay (e.g. Virtua School), maybe with changing stats (e.g. Alter Ego, i'd LOVE an update\mod\anything that did justice to the original). But, thanks so much for persisting.
