Model Student

if a little shy and weird... and perpetually wearing velcro...
Heheh, I would only wear stretch pants and t-shirts, and I stared at the ceiling when I spoke. The other kids always asked me what the heck I was looking for up there.

I remember that at one of my parent-teacher-student conferences, the only thing she said about me was that I lacked social skills.
My teachers tend to feel the same way about me. They admire my effort and intelligence, but always seem to have something like "should speak more/participate more in class" written on my feedback slips at the end of the semester.
I was an "exemplary student", even got a badge that said that, in 1st or 2nd grade. I had good grades, and was generally quiet and withdrawn, which was apparently considered good behavior. In 6th grade, however, my behavior grade was lowered for being "antisocial" - I got "outstanding" instead of "exemplary". It was a big deal, because such a bad grade prevented me from receiving special honors that year, despite having A's from all subjects except Phys. Ed.
