this is kinda what I went through with my daughter... I have always believed in letting them learn when they are ready, and have been lucky with my first two learning She potty trained COMPLETELY on her own at 18 months, just like my son had.

but then 9-10 months later she regressed, and over night was not potty trained at all anymore. on top of just accidents in her pants she was going other odd places, the worst part was she began using my rocking chair as a toilet (we had to get rid of it) I never understood why the regression.

I tried everything to get her to use the toilet again, or at least use a diaper (as appose to my chair, and the floor behind the couch!)but nothing worked. As others suggested, I tried making her clean up her own messes (or at least help me clean, so she could get an idea of why it wasnt exceptable), but she simply wouldnt do it, she was impossible to get through to. It was a very frusterating time for me.

She is 4 now...I cant remember quite what ended it, but eventually she started using the potty again, now she will have an accident once in a great while. (like maybe once3 a month to once every two or three months)

Anyways, with her she has not yet gotten a complete diagnoses past autistic tendencies and epilepsy, while her severe autistic tendencies surprisingly went away when she started her seizure medication (if anyone can explain that Id be interested!) she still has alot of issues that I do not understand...

hope that helps, for her there was simply nothing I could do except wait it out... (and get rid of the rocking chair!)

Honestly, my girls trained at different times. This is before we knew they were AS too...our dr. just said let them set the pace, and we did. I know that's hard (believe me!) but it worked for us.

Our youngest took the longest and has the most AS symptoms; she was almost 5 til fully trained. I was scared she'd be in a diaper in Kindergarten I swear toyou! She would go all day in panties but want a diaper at night. We just did that and worked with her as much as we could (lots of compromise)

Bribery, prizes, etc - none of it ever worked for us. They have to WANT it, and when our daughter was ready she just was ready. We had no regression with her, either - she just had to come to the whole idea on her own. I really think these kids are like that.
