I would also like to add my website to the parenting index at momsparky's suggestion (www.freevideosforautistickids.com). It is a very big website with multiple categories: social skills, speech, reading, homeschool, math, writing, therapies, etc., and I'm not sure where to place it though.

For reference, if anybody does a search and wants to add a page to the index, you can do it via google (albeit a little sloppily) by searching "insert your subject" "Parents' Discussion" site:wrongplanet.net (not in italics, of course) I then just write the thread title and copy the link next to it (quicker than doing a hyperlink.) So, if you're searching a subject that isn't listed here, feel free to help out and make a post!)

Gonna add these in two places, but here are some resources I think are important

Glossary of terms in Special ED: http://www.disabilityrights.org/glossary.htm

Understanding the language of Special Ed: http://www.directionservice.org/cadre/e ... c%20Ed.pdf

I posted the Itunes U program on autism by Yale University. One of the sessions is specifically about assessment and diagnosis, why it is done, how it is done, and what it is about. If you have questions about the diagnostic process, this is a good place to start.

I don't know if my "Care and Feeding of Your Aspie" series qualifies for this thread, but I have been told that it is a good tool for understanding the Autistic Condition.

I have been posting updates on the ongoing series in a thread here on WP... I have selected the URL for a recap of all posted issues at that time.

Here is the link
