Yes and I just happen to have more of the natural drugs in my brain that make me feel like crap then the ones that make me feel good...so i have to balance it out somehow.

Pills are nothing to be ashamed of when prescribed.

Well yes that is not quite what I was referring to.....last time I was prescribed pills it did not work out too well.

ok well maybe weve just started a anti infighting movement on this form, ill update you if autism speaks responds or deletes my account ha ha ha

The impression I have gotten is Autism Speaks does not really care about how people with autism or aspergers feel about it. And I certainly have no use for an organization that claims to represent people like me while ignoring anything I or anyone else might have to say about it.

Perhaps it is hard for them to both support individuals that are proud of difficulties and those who feel specific aspects of themselves are disabilities.

Well that is no excuse for behaving like people with the conditions opinions and feeling do not matter, its like they care more about putting people in their place or whatever.

@sweatlief,sorry my previous response to you didnt go through.the whole point of my post was to show AS doesnt always exclude autistics from there org.also AS is a sapport group for parents of autistic children, they dont claim to be represnting autistics, what this forum is for

Well shouldn't they be encouraging parents to try and find the skills their child does have and be encouraging about it? It just seems like its for parents who see their kid as a horrid disability then a child with a disability that still has the chance to develop and such........that is really the impression I got from their website.

The Autism Speaks forum on NING is heavily vaccine politics. not very active either. Only a handful of people arguing the same topics over and over with a sprinkling of rational parents honestly looking for help tossed in. There are a few on the spectrum as well and usually their advice is very welcomed. But I've aslo seen the negative side of that - people who think those here on WP aren't 'autistic enough' if they can all type and express themselves. There also seems to be some negative attitudes as well about WP becasue of all the outspoken Aspies (apparently a 'curebie' parent got himself lambasted here).

Seriously - I agree vermontsavant. Can't we all just get along?

That is very fascinating. Yet I am not going to any other forums to study. Some pride folks cost me allot of productivity already and I am leaving this forum as well. I am going to post up my native American instrument flute music though.

Hmmm... I would have thought you took the temperature on several forums - not just this one. Since Autism Speaks is so vilified here I would have thought that would be one of the first places you would monitor outside of WP.

Good hunting to you ci.

Analysis of this kind does not create funding. I must focus on creating funding. I have learned enough to protect my organization from pride individuals that are harmful toward organization that do not follow their explicit agenda and whom they try to force.

The music will be about inclusion.

Have you appealed to Autism Speaks for funding? They do set aside a percentage of their funding for programs like yours. If you suggest it as a pilot program for possible future franchising it might just catch their attention. An experienced nonprofit grant writer should be able to put the proper spin on it...

I have enough spin and my decision is by the fruits of my and our labor. People buy candles all the time to support this private sector program. The government will be funding it directly soon enough in the tune of $100,000 - $500,000 a year as it grows. Yet when this happens (likely in 4- 6 months) the company will split into two. One being the social service agency and the other area inclusion campaign and products. Seeking non-profit 501c3 or related status is important.

All Autism Society and Autism Speaks chapters / locations are being mailed shortly.

I am ordering 10,000 lotion bottles and candle pouring robotics equipment soon.

I have only allocated so much time. I am sure I will be emailed if when needed again. Also if them pride-mite folks want to banter again by messing with my organization I have a whole lot more political ammunition then before. I am eager to assure fundamental liberties of myself and those who benefit from the civil rights platform I have established where I live. For now the YouTube videos against pride have been removed. Yet I long for the opportunity to prove myself in defending and advancing the prerogative should they attack it again.
