This poll is proving to be highly inadequate! Shame on the creator of the poll*!

* Guess who he is...

It honestly depends what I am doing. Memories are like film strips, writing and speaking is words, and everything else concepts. Sometimes I do not think at all and just know things, then I have to remember how I got it.

I think in images/concepts at the same time.

I'm not sure if I understand the question. There are a few ways that those on the Autistic spectrum tend to think: visually, pattern-wise, and verbal... Is that what you're getting at?

I tend to learn verbally, but think in patterns...

I most commonly think in concepts, and detailed maps of relations can be traced between objects on the overall scheme of things. When speaking, I think in words and concepts. When inventing, drawing, or thinking through engineering processes, I think in images.

But yeah, mostly concepts, because those require the least active thought to get the point across the brain. Understandable language, even in thought, tends to take a while longer - and as such limits my ability to see everything connected to a situation.

I'm not sure if I understand the question, but I think I think in concepts. When I write, I can never actually write about reality, only this abstract stuff that goes around stating the point. But then, maybe I think in words. hmm.
also, it's too bad there aren't more NTs to vote on this.

I think in both words and concepts.

What does it mean to think in concepts :?: I thought concept was something like an abstract idea & ideas can be thought in words or images.

I think with all three. Usually it's in partial sentences accompanied by images and memories and with some nouns and verbs replaced completely by concepts or images. When I'm stressed I think only in concepts and images.

I'm currently diagnosed with an unspecified, gifted learning disability and sensory issues, and am looking into a more formal AS diagnoses.

Probably calling it thinking in concepts is not strictly correct but there isn't any other good word for it. For instance I can think about a mechanism and understand exactly how it works without words or images. I just know how it works. I virtually never think in images and words don't really work to describe that sort of thing. A friend of mine in the same situation would 'see' a movie of the mechanism in action.

Are the options in the poll from a particular test?
Or just created by the person who posted them?

I am a visually thinker, but occasionally words might be added in (usually when I am rehearsing something).

Words (as spoken, not text) + images/"video".
Probably the most common form of thinking?
Though, when I'm in a spoken conversation with someone, I can't think like I normally can anymore so it's concepts and it becomes harder to remember words and how sentences are supposed to put together.
