if you'd like i could send you a larger version by mail to print it out, starr?

what inspires me ?
often it is a research of how things can be represented in a twodimensional way, i've got a whole rational system in my head that i try to perfectionate.

it's also very visual, there are no stories, or words involved, or if there are they are visual symbols (like in one painting i have written 'random red' in binary code, but not readable)

i'm also obsessed with colours, patterns, textures and light.

one theme that comes back in a lot of paintings is a split or a crack, reveiling both the crack and what is behind it.

also combining different elements that don't belong together is fascinating to try to put them together (here we might have some story somehow, because in real life it's also interesting to match real things and not because it has always been combined the same way)

i also plan to have several series exploring landscapes, buildings and portraits, for the abstracts i'd like to make some elaborated doodles in the future,
but first i'll finish what i have started.

I voted for "torso," but I also like "yellow." I have a place on my wall for one called "green."

Ah yes, I noticed one with that theme that you are working on in the video you made showing your studio.

Thank you for sharing your inspirations for your painting. I find it very interesting to try to understand what 'starts' a painting in a painter's mind, what thoughts and feelings are being expressed, if you know what I mean. (With me, a painting usually starts with a dream image)

I would love a larger version of squares to print out, if you are happy to share your work in this way, is very kind of you. I will be able to have a better look to see more closely what colours you have used. :)

They're all damned good, but I'd say "stripes" is my favorite. I love complex patterns like that, I can stare at them for hours.

Well, not quite sure what you mean, but I wouldn't be averse to having that wonderful painting as a desktop. I really like squares.

I voted Stripes because I've never seen a texture like that before; It was interesting to me.

I voted for the white ones, but really, it's very very hard to decide. I like them all a lot - they have this intuitive feel to them and seem to awaken something fleeting, but significant which one can't put one's finger on. And I like the colors, the way they're both gentle and vivid at the same time. :)
