Anything that is simple, like my Garfield-style art. :)

Selecting artworks that match the colour and decor of the room is a good point- thanks.

I wonder about colour too.....would the colour of something affect your preference of artworks? Do you prefer bold loud colourful paintings over minimal monochrome paintings for example?

If you could choose any artworks in the world to have for your home what would it be??? (in terms of how much you like it - not how much it's worth financially!). I would like a Francis Bacon painting...

I really like Salvador Dali. As a surrealist, I feel like he is able to comprehend that there is a different world around us - that we can't see, but we are free to interpret.

I also really like the work of designer Saul Bass. Very simple shapes that tell a very detailed story.

I am an artist.
I feel like getting lost in a visual dreamscape is very soothing. I tend to think very visually.

Firstly, if I was walking into a new building, I would appreciate a well-executed simple black and white (limited palette) map or layout of the building and its surroundings. I want to know where all the exits are, especially those that lead to a small habitat with a bench and something floral/botanical. That would reassure and calm me, as I have anxieties from feeling trapped.

I really enjoy paintings and drawings that capture chiaroscuro. Pen and ink with gouache or watercolor. I happen to really love Schiele. I love spaces that are either dark with jewel tones or very light and white with pastel washes, but not a combination of those two. Light blues, pinks, aqua tones, and lavender are very soothing. Subject matter is not as important as is clean lines. But, not always. Purposeful mistakes, the lack of perfectionism, an errant smudge are all reassuring in this world where humans aren't always appreciated for their humanism.

Lately, I'm really into the textile arts of Lucienne Day and the surrealist works of Dorothea Tanning.

All this being said, I am not professionally diagnosed yet, but am 89-94% sure that I have Asperger's. I welcome feedback.

Additionally a Francis Bacon painting would be too dark and considered triggering, in my opinion. I appreciate (and admire) the art and the idea that art is made often as a way for one to deal with one's demons. But your centre probably wouldn't want to antagonize ideas of harm and pain.

Also, regarding art I would want to hang in my home, I'd pick Camille Rose Garcia, The Clayton Brothers, Souther Salazar or Richard Colman.

The futurists were not very nice people, but they produced some of my favourite art.

I love Salvador Dali's sureal stuff. But also I like the sword and sorcery, bodacious babes stuff in Frank Frazetta's art work that have graced the covers of countless pocket book covers, espcially for the Conan the Barbarian books.
