I wish my teacher(s) knew that when I am late to class, I am not doing it because I don't care, and when I do manage to be on time, it is not proof that I could and should be able to do it every day. I am late because time is a concept that I struggle with, and if I was on time, it is because my daily regimen of stress, planning, panicking, and clock-watching happened to pan out. It often doesn't-- also, when I say that I'm sorry for being late, I actually mean it. I know that it is disruptive, and upsetting, and that from your (my teacher's) perspective it is blatantly disrespectful, and I am very sorry every time that my difficulties cause me to represent myself in a way that makes others think these sorts of things about me.
