Yes that can be the downside some are cheap, some are expensive that might change though in the future. The only thing if you get them by underground means on the net then you don’t have to pay for it.

Hi, I'm doing Excel to MySQL: Analytic Techniques for Business Specialization at Coursera. It started a week ago, and in the beginning it's a lot about learning economic vocabulary - I guess the interesting stuff will come later. Next I want to look at Data Science and Python, but I talked to someone who said the Python bit was really difficult. I'll give it a go though.

The difficult part of MOOCs is my auditory processing issues. Listening for a long time is tiring, and I tend to zone out. My attention span for reading and studying on my own is longer. I tend to do ok with the courses that are split up into short videos. For the longer videos, I just watch them a little at a time, then pause them and do something else for a while. Also, I sometimes preview the lecture slides so I have an overview of the whole lecture in my mind and don't get lost in the details of a long lecture.

I like videos a lot for the opportunity to take a break and return. I have a bit of a problem with watching videos, for me a podcast would have been better, but all in all I like being in control and having things broken down into shorter bits. I started a course called Learning how to learn, but didn't finish due to being busy moving. It started really great, though, very useful information.
