I saw them at Hammersmith Odeon in 1979, The Bomber Tour, with that amazing Bomber with the propeller lights swaying around above the stage, I have seen many gigs but this is one of the ones I can still remember.
Have been reading many Internet articles and many articles reprinted from magazines.....seems that Motörhead toured with W.A.S.P. years ago, and things did NOT go well.......
Blackie and all of W.A.S.P. were notorious drinkers/druggies......Chris Rhodes, for instance, became famous for a scene in a documentary film wherein he floated in a swimming pool, drinking from a bottle of vodka, and babbling that he was an alcoholic.
Anyhow, before he cleaned up and became a Christian, Blackie was BAD with the drugs and booze, especially the booze.....
He had gone wild in his teens; his parents tried everything, wound up putting him in a military school.
That did not end well.
During one of many sessions of being hauled in to the school's head officer for a stern talking-to, Blackie beat the guy up.
He was 17 years old.

Oh wow the live album of that show is my favorite NWOBHM album. Absolutely phenomenal. I may have listened to that...a little bit obsessively as a teenager.
The last time I saw Motorhead was freaking amazing. It was at Coachella a couple years ago. The band was on fire, the crowd was going crazy. I had promised myself I would stay away from the pit, because I don't heal so quick anymore (late 30s for this show). Then Slash came onstage and they played Overkill and Ace of Spades.
The pit went wild and I cracked a rib. I managed to stay in the pit until the set was over, and then went and collpased in pain. It took 6 weeks to recover form that, but it was still worth it.

Motorhead is definitely one of the most influential metal bands in music history and while it's sad that Lemmy died, at least he was able to get one final album out. They had a great run and you know that wherever he might be now, that place is far more metal than it ever was thanks to him.
