I mean, it's not like anyone forced you to read my post.

Also, I mentioned Sheldon Cooper and Abed Nadir, but I just thought of another one. Peridot from Steven Universe. How would she feel about transgenderism? I'm guessing the answer from most of the show's fans would be that she understands and supports it, because she's not a bad guy anymore, and only bad guys are transphobic.

I don't believe speculation on the opinions of fictional characters is especially useful to the discussion.

I don't watch much tv so I don't know how to respond to that question. Also I'm not sure you can get an answer from fictional characters.

as the left gets more and more militant (and continues to alienate more and more of the population) the silent majority will begin to push back as more and more of us become disillusioned with the left...

you are not alone; this madness won't go on forever... hang in there another year or two and the general population will abandon these nutters.

/thread.

Just don't hang on here, as this forum has transgender members who don't need your ignorant hate or judgement. Thanks!

Are you completely oblivious to the irony inherent in such a statement?

I'm not particularly interested in having a conversation with you, thanks.

Then responding to my posts is decidedly odd of you - especially in such a hateful and judgemental manner.

Which, rather handily, answers my question. So thanks.

Glad we understand each other. Now I will ask that you not respond to any of my posts in future and we're all set and there will be no need for any further communication between us ever.

Oh I wouldn't say that at all, no.

And I'll ignore your request, remind you that this is a public forum provided for the discussion of grown up topics and ask you to put your big girl pants on.

I'll further advise you that, if your sole purpose when responding to a post is to adopt a passive-aggressive, holier-than-thou attitude rather than engage in honest discourse, I shall point it out every single time for the trolling that it is.

Please stop trying to talk to me. I've told you I'm not interested in speaking with you--just because it is a public forum does not mean I am obligated to talk to you. You have been reported for harassment and personal attacks, and if you continue commenting at me I will just keep reporting you. This is the last time you will get a response from me directly and not through moderator intervention. Please respect my wishes so that moderator intervention is not necessary in the future.

By responding to me, you're speaking to me. Directly addressing me, yet informing me that you don't want a dialogue is passive-aggressive trolling behaviour.

I've broken zero forum rules, but feel free to waste the time of the moderators.

This would imply that you have a degree of influence over moderators that would further imply collusion. I'm unconvinced this is the case. Please refrain from invoking power which you do not wield and issuing threats of punitive measures. Aside from anything else, it makes you appear silly.

You have two choices:
1- Stop quoting and responding to me.
2- Continue to engage in discourse.

You do not have the option:
3- Stand atop a soapbox and dictate the terms of engagement on a public forum.

You seem intent on hijacking what was a productive conversation and making it all about yourself. My advice would be to not participate in any thread that you do not actually intend to contribute to, rather than flinging mud everywhere and complaining that you got dirty.

It's more like standing in the middle of London during the Great Fire and saying "My house is on fire too" whilst one group is monopolising the time and energy of the firefighters who are therefore incapable of stopping the fire from spreading elsewhere.

That "house burning down" analogy is poorly framed and illogical.

That's fair enough.

If you want a conversation to end, then the best strategy (particularly online) is to just stop participating in it.

That's a more direct analogy, but I think it lacks the rhetorical panache of making the white houses not be on fire at all.
