actually, grange and strange won't work, because they have a long A sound.

flange would be closer... though the a sound in orange is unique, closer to a schwa E.

According to the English Rhyming Dictionary, there are no English words to rhyme with orange, lemon, or purple.

Ha, so you're not supposed to pronounce "orange" like "range"; something new everyday.

Purple has the same rhythm as turtle though, so if one day the English language decides to change and turtle becomes turple, it can rhyme with purple. :D
