Probably because Konami doesn't have the rights to Ninja Turtles anymore. Ubisoft did, last I knew, but I don't think they do anymore.

I'm still pretty impressed by the titles they do have on those things.

You are probably right.

Its like the Atari 2600 Flashbacks--none of them have Defender (I loved the Atari 2600 version because it lacked the crushing difficulty of the arcade) or Burgertime (the Atari 2600 version had sucky graphics but you cant get any version of the game on any retro system for some reason).

I think there's one of those "mini arcade cabinet" things out right now that has Burger Time on it. It's the NES version. There might be other Data East games on it, too.

I googled it and you are indeed correct. Off to locate one. Thank you, I did like the NES version.

$100 seems kind of steep, but it has "30+" games included.

That machine doesn't look terribly practical to me. The arcade cabinet shape would be difficult to hold and use. Perhaps a machine shaped like a Game Boy would be more suitable. Personally, for portable arcade games I use MAME running on my GP2X

Those machines are a throwback to Midways Pac Man and similar machines shaped like arcade cabinets of yesteryear, only mini. However they have much improved tech and the graphics really look like the old arcade games.

If you want a throwback in miniature, how about a tabletop version like this? It reminds me of the old Coleco tabletop machines.

I finally found a machine that has Burger Time on it. It is the NES version, which I like, and it came on a plug and play mini device with seven other Data East games on it as well, including Bad Dudes. I'm glad its the NES version, I looked up the Atari 2600 version and the graphics are AWFUL, far worse than I remember. The burger parts only barely look like food and the fried eggs and pickles are just pixelated boxes.

They never bother to put the arcade version on any these cheaply made things. They're always famiclones.

It's quite highly regarded as one of the best games released for the system. Even with how common it is, a complete physical copy of the game with box, manual and strategy guide sells for about $700. The cartridge alone is about $200 or a little less.
