If he ever existed and were somehow alive today, he'd likely be an Israeli citizen and wouldn't vote Democrat or Republican.

When He returns, there will be no countries. Only His kingdom.

On a side note, isn't it odd that John Lennon would begin a song with the words "Imagine there's no Heaven", and then describe what Heaven will be like?

Actually, Christ would probably be a citizen of the West Bank Palestinian territories.

In your opinion. The Gospels declare otherwise.

He was born in Nazareth. They are in the Palestinian Territories.

Now...if his family would have migrated to Israel, and they were Jews, then that would be a different story, sure.

Applying secular law to the Divine? You should writhe for The Onion.

Even God wanted his Son to blend in amongst the "masses." You can't dispute that.

I doubt that Christ knew his "divine" nature until he was about 30 or so.

I don't have to... "When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." (John 8:12 -- NIV)

Again...

The Boy Jesus at the Temple (Luke 2:41-51)

Luke, the Physician wrote:
Every year His parents went to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover.
And when He was twelve years old, they went up according to the custom of the Feast.
When those days were over and they were returning home, the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, but His parents were unaware He had stayed.
Assuming He was in their company, they traveled on for a day before they began to look for Him among their relatives and friends.
When they could not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem to search for Him.
Finally, after three days they found Him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.
And all who heard Him were astounded at His understanding and His answers.
When His parents saw Him, they were astonished. “Child, why have You done this to us?” His mother asked. “Your father and I have been anxiously searching for You.”
“Why were you looking for Me?” He asked. “Did you not know that I had to be in My Father’s house?”
But they did not understand the statement He was making to them.
Then He went down to Nazareth with them and was subject to them. But His mother treasured up all these things in her heart.
And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
Jesus clearly knew who His real Father was. Thus, He knew and understood His own Divine nature.

You don't read the Bible much, do you?

I would say Jesus would have abstained......and put forward his own candidate (in answer to the original question).

I wish there could be an accounting for the whereabouts of Jesus between the ages of 12 and about 30. What sort of philosophical conflicts did he undergo within himself during those 18 years or so? Did he consult with God, his Father at all?

There will be no election. Christ is King, and that's all there is to it.

You should ask Him.

He would never answer me.

And he never told anyone else, either....

Jesus wouldn't believe in dictatorship.

He might be the King----but he also believes in the democratic process.

Evidence, please?

The Kingdom of Heaven IS a dictatorship -- it is the only way to have and maintain what we would call a "Utopian" society.

There is no "evidence"---I'm just sharing my impressions. They are not "gospel."

It would have been nice to "know" Jesus in contemporary society.
