I'm a pretty heavy gamer of RPG's, Strategy games, and MMO's. More "classic" stuff than modern, but I am enjoying the trend of indie developers now coming out with old-school-inspired offerings made with more modern toolsets.

There's a lot of stuff I have tons of undying affection for, but my absolute all-time favorite is Daggerfall, and I am super-excited about the Daggerfall for Unity project now being in a playable and moddable state.

I have also done some self-employment work in games, having run viable businesses in Ultima Online, Everquest 2, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, and Shroud of the Avatar, and am now an authorized developer for the Nintendo 3DS hoping to make some first-person dungeon games for that platform.

It's hard for me to pick a favorite. At one point I loved Final Fantasy as a series, but particularly VI. At another point I played nothing but World of Warcraft. The Miyazaki helmed Demon's/Dark Souls and Bloodborne I thought were incredible games. When I started to get into VR it was pretty much nothing but Elite Dangerous that took up my time.

These days I'm into the Touhou series, and if I had to pick my favorite it'd probably be Touhou 7.

But if I had to pick just one of all those it'd be impossible. I like them all and often each for very different reasons.

For a long time, I enjoyed Chris Sawyer's Locomotion, a game where you build a transportation empire.
Then there was a time where I enjoyed playing Minecraft: Lord of the Rings, which is a very beautiful rendition of Tolkien's world of Middle-earth, complete with most of that world's factions, the ability to brew booze, hire armies, and more.
Today I often play The Long Dark, a Canadian-themed winter survival game, and arguably one of the most beautiful games I've ever seen.
I also often play Rimworld, a sci-fi themed colony simulator, which is similar to Dwarf Fortress, which I've also played a bit.
