For a long time, I enjoyed Chris Sawyer's Locomotion, a game where you build a transportation empire.
Then there was a time where I enjoyed playing Minecraft: Lord of the Rings, which is a very beautiful rendition of Tolkien's world of Middle-earth, complete with most of that world's factions, the ability to brew booze, hire armies, and more.
Today I often play The Long Dark, a Canadian-themed winter survival game, and arguably one of the most beautiful games I've ever seen.
I also often play Rimworld, a sci-fi themed colony simulator, which is similar to Dwarf Fortress, which I've also played a bit.
