I loved them when I was a kid.

Yes. I remember them. My Mum remembers them from when she was young. It came as a big surprize to find that somewhere during the early to mid 1990's when we had move up to a colour TV to find that Sooty was actually yellow and not white.

Let's not hate them though, they are just seeking attention and are unhappy, lonely people who have nothing more meaningful to do with their lives. The thing with sock puppets and trolls is that even when they are in a positive environment they cannot help themselves and they sabotage the good things they find also. Yes sockpuppets are lost and confused souls and demand attention like naughty, neglected children, but they still deserve our empathy.

Even sockpuppets and trolls need to follow the rulz, these days.
I don't really see a major problem.

The real issue is people becoming emotional as a result of baiting and fallacious or deliberately misleading posts.
Personally, I enjoy the exercise of pulling apart faulty thinking and resisting being ensnared in emotionalism.
