I am at the very bottom of the list for vaccine.

So I've still got plenty of time to treasure my social skills, before the vaccine scrambles my brain into a severe autistic.

Then again, by then the vaccine might have variated into one that is 100% safe and causes no autism, dementia or other brain disorders/diseases. I heard the swine flu vaccine caused some people to get that neurological disorder where you fall asleep at random times (forgotten what it's called). If a vaccine can cause a neurological disorder like that then who knows what other neurological disorders or diseases it can cause? Is my Aspie brain that breakable like the school nurse said in 1999 just before I was supposed to have the meningitis vaccine?
That was what my mum was told: "Don't let Joe90 have the meningitis vaccine as it might make her Asperger's worse". Can you blame me for being fearful of vaccines?

I dont understand though, why are you scared of adverse reactions on vaccines, but say adverse reactions to hayfever tablets you would be completely fine with?

Well because I haven't heard any horror stories about over the counter tablets causing long-term brain damage since I've been alive. I've heard more horror stories about vaccines. If they'd just invented tablets to keep the COVID symptoms under control then I think more people would be less afraid.
And because there are always countries at war with one another or some other sort of conflict going on we are all conditioned to live in fear.

Well they are not true. They have done research on it. Vaccines contain symptomless viruses that give immunity to the virus in the vaccine and the virus the vaccine is for. The chemicals that are in the vaccine just keep the virus going. The chemicals have no special properties compared to any other medicine you take. You shouldn't just believe everything anyone tells you. There is this thing called critical thinking, you should use it.

My daughter and her husband have received the first of two Pfizer COVID-19 immunization shots. The only reaction they experienced was a sore arm. They are both medical doctors.

That is reassuring ......... am still little worried but , if medical personnel are willing to take it . Feels alittle better
Hopefully No side effects ....! But I do have a serious variety of allergies . Which are normally somewhat easy to control ..

So do I.
Gluten and nut intolerances.
That is a bit of a worry, for me, in regard to the vaccine.

I will let the young and dumb go first. 8)

Now I know you are stupid, given the choice why would you not want this over? You're self aware enough to guard yourself from the side effects but not enough to guard yourself from a potentially fatal virus.

For once, a considerate/decent post from you. [sarcasm]

Why don't you give the bashing the skunk thing a rest?

It's the old and overworked first.
Then the young and dumb.

I live a hikikomori/hermit lifestyle.
Heck, I even look like one with my wild bushy beard and long hair.

The chances of me catching the virus are extremely slim.
I can afford to wait and see what happens to other people. 8)

Please don't think I am an anti-vaxer.
I am 100% for it and will eventually get the inoculation at some point. ;)

Also, here in Australia, we all can wait since we are an island continent and have the world's best practices in regard to contact tracing. 8)

I even considered the possibility that the cee cee pee designed a virus to do just that.
I.E. To get rid of excess "useless" old people, while having virtually no effect on the "useful" young.
They have a population problem, after all.
I wouldn't put it passed them.

@ 46, some would consider you old, already.
I am older than you but I don't consider myself old, especially since my health is good. ;)

Unfortunately, I have to agree with you.
Humanity, as a species, stinks to high heaven.
True, dat.

If/when I get to that point, I'll kark myself.
But in the meantime, I have enough wealth to hire a personal nurse, at home, if I need to, or want to.
But there comes a point where enough is enough, of this ugly life system. 8)

I just got off the phone with the molecular biology PhD who raised me, we talked vaccines for almost a half hour. What I do know is that you're not deserving of any 'tolerance' for potentially wilfully carrying an indiscriminately fatal contagious disease. It's no different than if I were to decide not to quarantine after being exposed.

Quarantining does not amount to source control biologically. I have a similar lifestyle when I'm not at work; this is not an excuse to expose anyone. You expressed no deference to medical science which easily might save your life, but we don't know whose funeral that is.

Moot point.
We don't have any vaccines here in Australia and the PM says he/we aren't going to rush it.
He said exactly the same thing as I did.
We, here in Australia, can afford to wait and see how the vaccine works out.

Mate, get over your skunk-hating problem.
It has been going on for over 3 years now.

Well that's a disservice to the entire neighbouring planet. There are more vaccines in development & four released. It's not as if you don't have options already.

What you're saying is no less problematic than Jairo Bolsinaro insisting that the inoculation will turn you into a crocodile. You're delaying the effect that will preserve the global economy. I'm sure thousands if not millions of people with your same allergies will get the shot before you.

I am waiting my turn in line. Even though I am 72 it might be summer before I finally get to the front of the line. In the meantime it is "Me and my N95".

Just a situation , where beyond allergies , have a few co morbidities that have to be addressed . Will be having long talk. With my infectious disease doc before I just run right out , get a inoculation... would like to not have to concern myself with extra issues .

How long do these two last until repeat?

Sorry to go off-topic but I'm just curious - who is bashing skunks and does it mean what I think it means (hating the animal)? Am I missing something?

At the moment, this probably falls into the UNKNOWN category.

Moderna has teamed up with Roche to track the duration of COVID-19 protection after vaccination.
Refer to Moderna, Roche team up to track duration of Covid-19 protection after vaccination

This article discusses that question:
How long do vaccines last? The surprising answers may help protect people longer

Since these (Pfizer and Moderna) are the first of their type because they are based on mRNA, they are unique and it will be interesting to track.
