This Feb 2nd the local groundhog couldn't have seen his shadow because it was too cloudy and rainy for anyone to see theirs. It's supposed to mean spring will come early, but it's been unusually mild this winter with hardly any snow. I've been worried because global warming but my mother said it was just the January Thaw (last month when it was still January), and we have had warmer winters in the past, but I don't know.
All I know is that usually we're lucky if *all* we get is six more weeks of winter whether that groundhog sees his shadow or not.
Build-a-Bear has a stuffed toy groundhog for Groundhog's day. Which is pretty unusual, you don't normally see anything for Groundhog's Day but there's tons of stuff out for Valentine's, St. Patty and Easter! But it would make a unique addition to my BAB collection.
We're supposed to be getting a snowstorm on Monday, so I guess Nature wants to remind us that it *is* winter.
