I used to wear a watch for over 20 years, 24 hours a day except when bathing. I even slept with the watch on (it was my alarm). Sometime in 2017 I developed a really bad skin rash on my wrist that just wasn't healing, it got unbearable so I had to discontinue wearing the watch until the rash heals. My wristband was stainless, which is good. By the time the rash healed I lost the habit of wearing the watch. Then in 2019 I wore it again for a job interview, and that was the last day the watch worked. I went home that day and it just stopped working. I didn't bother opening it to see if it was the battery or what. It got put away again.

I like old school stainless digital watches, I've worn the Timex models for over 10 years because the digits are proportional and are easy to read and the wristband expands, no clasp on it:

I have a couple of watches. They're nice watches too. Got a pretty good one for a birthday once.
But I don't wear them. I don't have much reason to, I have my phone on me all the time. Maybe if I hung out more or went to places where I was expected to dress nice I would wear one but I don't do anything like that. They also seem uncomfortable to me, but that may be because I don't wear them regularly and my wrists are very skinny.

I never wore watches cuz I don't like the feel of them. I bring my phone with me most anywhere I go so I don't really need a watch. I did bring a watch with me to work thou when I was working cuz I was not allowed to use my phone during work hours unless I was on break. I kept the watch in my pocket partly cuz the 3 jobs I had were dish-washing & custodial type stuff. Wearing a watch on my wrist would of been a hindrance & could of potentially damaged the watch.
I wonder if anybody would be interested in wearing the Crotch Watch :?:

Yea I'm the same except using the phone as a watch means I have to carry my phone which I dislike almost as much as wearing a watch so I am back to square one.

Yeah, I had the Casio before I had the Timex, the Casio has a clasp, the Timex does not. Timex wristband expands. I casually played some hoops while wearing the Casio and I broke the watch body when my palm expanded intercepting a ball, as the wristband was tight. Timex wristband expands when it needs to.

I do, I get antsy if I don’t know exactly what time it is and find a quick glance at my wrist easier than pulling out a phone all the time (plus don’t always have my phone with me, I don’t like the feel of it in a pocket). Except right now I have a new watch that gives me a rash on my wrist if I wear it, so it lives in my pocket until I can get a different band (the rash is distinctly under the band, not the watch face, so that’s clearly the problem). Much smaller than a phone in my pocket, at least.

My phone has the time. And my Fitbit has the time. Why wear a watch? LOL

There's a song by Chicago which deals with having to know "what time it is" all the time.

Fitbit you have to charge regularly. My last watch had a 6-year battery in it, and that's with the alarm function. My phone had caused me to be late several times because of stupid things like power management suspending the alarm app, or automatically installing system updates suspending the system scheduler so the scheduled alarms don't sound off.

Yes! I remember the clasp, it used to pinch my skin but I never minded

Used to wear a watch, but kept getting it snagged or the battery would run dead . No need to add to my frustration level . Maybe some day in the future might start wearing one again .

For some reason I remember the old Casio batteries were so large, almost as big as the content of the watch, The digital display seemed to be run a miniature motherboard

How about a digital pocket watch?

This is one of my favourites, I wear it quite often

There must be something wrong with me as I am able to read every word it says on that pocket watch. Don't ask me how.

Is it yours...? How did you come to possess it?
