That sounds cool!

I am working on a story about a mysterious alien force that causes every single animal on Earth (including all domesticated ones) to betray humans.

Humans try to communicate with this force, but the prominent alien leaders all refuse to do so.

In the words of Spock: "Fascinating."
I'm currently working on a story told from first person perspective of a ghoul.

I am both new here and a newly established author. I've always wanted to embark on writing as a career since adolescence. I kept putting it off for one reason or another, be it college, my day job, etc.

Finally, once I stumbled upon Vocal, I found that motivation I've always wanted. So now I'm writing short stories regularly as I'm diligently building a portfolio. I am primarily interested in writing fantasy, horror, and sci-fi. I am not fond of writing realistic fiction, but that is just me.

On another note, I'm grateful that the members of WP appreciate excellent writing!

I go through Amazon to publish my stuff. I have two anthologies of short stories, and a novella in paperback, kindle, and audio, as well as having short stories published in various anthologies with other writers.

I write as a hobby but I've never attempted to to publish anything.

Here's a story/comic I posted ages ago on another forum:

I write quite a lot, but my stories are rather out there. I like a lot of Star Wars and DC/Marvel like comic themes. Big battles with super heroes and villains, basically.

I'll have to look into those, Kraichgauer. It sounds like you got an excellent bibliography going yourself. :)

All that said, I should mention that I published my eighth short story today!

I've written a few bad screenplays, also entered a Project Greenlight contest and some others. My favorite genre is sci-fi comedy and other genres with a sci-fi premise that sets up the story. Since I don't believe in alien visitors and the supernatural, I figure I'm free to do anything I want with the characters as long as I can make it seem credible to others.

Hey, Lovecraft was a self described materialistic atheist who didn't believe in anything supernatural, and yet his creations continue to exist in imaginative fiction to this day.

Hey Jib - just read “The Radiance”. Really enjoyed the read! What a trip! Evoked memories of “Flight of the Navigator” :). Only, this was better! You sure know how to set a scene and create a visual in the mind of the reader! Epic! 8)

I don't have writers' block right now, but am taking a break from writing my sci-fi story about an alien force that causes every single animal on Earth, including domesticated ones, to betray humans.

For the time being, I am returning to a Western story set several years after the Civil War.

What part of the west is your story taking place in?

Nowhere specific. Many states after the Civil War had not achieved statehood.
