A suciety without some sort of money or currency system is a fantasy pipe dream like being able to make things suddently appear by wiggling your nose, riding a flying unicorn, or world leaders caring about people working together to solve the world's problems.
So what, human beings just blinked into existence the moment money was invented? Or was it when it was first thought of? You know, I think the inhabitants of North Sentinel Island might have something to say about your theory.
Obviously, you have misunderstood his statement. Society needs some medium of exchange, whether it is livestock, labor, metal discs, or slips of papers with pictures of dead people on them.

The analogies he used make perfect sense; yours do not.

No society can exist without working together and sharing and exchanging all sorts of things, including labour and food and other goods. I'm not sure who would really argue with that or indeed why. But this thread is about money, not other forms of currency or exchange, so I'm fairly certain he was referring exclusively to money and I think you probably know that too. His statement and my response were both pretty good examples of politically loaded smart-assery, which suits the taste of some but understandably not all. The guy quotes the Ferengi from Star Trek so I'd probably get on great with him IRL whether we agree on everything or not and I'm sure he'll have a good smart-ass comeback if he ever returns to this thread but I'll take that all day over you or anyone else being deliberately obtuse. I've got no taste for that, man.

Some money would be okay, but not too much.
