Very perceptive Aghoday!

Lucas leaves a number of breadcrumbs throughout star wars about the real purpose of his imaginative universe (and its not a biography of the Skywalker clan like some star wars nutjobs think).

Yoda sounds a lot like he speaking the wisdom of the Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama. The Jedi philosophy echoes that of buddhism and the jedi use of the force to defend themselves is much like the martial arts of southern and eastern Asia

It may be fiction but Lucas is correct about the Jedi code
There is no ignorance, there is knowledge. There is no passion, there is serenity. There is no chaos, there is harmony. There is no death, there is the Force.

The Jedi Code was a series of rules and tenets that governed the Jedi Order's actions and embodied its beliefs. The Code taught its followers to not give in to feelings of anger toward other lifeforms, which would help them resist fear and prevent them from falling to the dark side of the Force.

The Jedi Code mandated that the Jedi could train only one apprentice at any given time.
The Code forbade the Jedi from killing unarmed opponents as well as seeking revenge. Amongst other dictates, the Jedi Code forbade Jedi Knights and Jedi Masters from training more than one Padawan at a given time.

Attachment was also forbidden by the Code. Grand Master Yoda stressed that attachment led to jealousy, greed, and ultimately the fear of loss, all of which were paths to the dark side. Ahsoka Tano also regarded attachment as dangerous, and rejected Grogu as an apprentice due to the foundling's bond with the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin.

Notwithstanding the strictures against attachment, the Code emphasized compassion as an essential aspect to the Jedi way of life, teaching that all lives were precious, though outsider misunderstandings of this were not unusual. While Jedi did not marry, the Code banned neither romantic feelings nor familial love. Nevertheless, giving into personal attachment was tantamount to forsaking the way of the Jedi,the teachings of which had little to do with family relationships

Grew to like more the prequels 1999-2005

The latest Disney movies are junk the last was painful and almost unwatchable.

I'm a fan. But there's a lot of spin-off stuff like The Mandalorian etc I haven't watched yet. But at least I know what a Mandalorian is. Although I'm not sure if I'm spelling it right.

I liked the first three movies. Rogue One was pretty good. And Star Wars Rebels (animated series). The first scenes in Ep VII before they left Desert Planet - it went down after that. My kids are big into it.

R2 is my favorite.

Oh yes! Episodes 4, 5 and 6 are some of my favourite films. Didn't like 1, 2, 3, 7, 8 and 9 Well I didn't mind 7 but the rest of them

And Mark Hamill is such a nice guy too.

Please give the animated series are a chance. Clone Wars and Rebels are excellent. The voice actors are the unsung heroes, they brilliantly embody the characters (sometimes better than the live actions versions). Ashley Eckstein is really brilliant playing a teenage Asoka.

The Mandalorian, Rogue one and Bad Batch also don't disappoint. Another underrated series ignored by the purists is Star Wars Resistance.

On the subject of spoilers...anyone like the Kenobi series?

Yeah it was good, introducing child Leia was a good idea I think.

I heard they (Disney) introduce a lot of new characters into these series like Reva to avoid paying royalties to Lucasfilms. That's why they killed off Leia and Luke in the movies. Personally I am glad, I am getting bored with the Skywalker clan.

I USED to be a Star Wars and Star Trek fan. I've lost interest in both franchises now. Neither is what they used to be.

My family and I enjoy watching the original trilogy whenever we can do so.
We also enjoyed watching Rogue One and Solo: A Star Wars Story.

We don't bother watching the prequel trilogy.

Disney are bring an animated series on QuiGon and Dooku which might resurrect your interest in the franchise.

If money is all that Disney loves, then that’s what they'll receive!
