An update on Earl Gray teapigs, which arrived today.

MmmMMMMM. Delicious, smooth - and well worth the short wait.
Much more subtle than any others I've tried. These give a delicate sweet hint, a waft of bergamot when drinking and leave a very pleasant bergamot aftertaste.

I'm quite relieved your taste buds approve! You must try a splash of Bailey's with it and report back - it's the tastiest combination ever.

I've not tried the teapigs you've mentioned. The worst I've had is their chocolate flake tea. Their everyday brew, on the other hand, is deliciously addictive.

Edit: it's called everyday brew - not English breakfast!

I was at my sister's earlier, where it was interesting to compare her Earl Gray which was one of the better ones I'd tasted.
Or so I thought. By comparison it's just heavily bergamot scented "ordinary tea" and leaves no bergamot aftertaste. A reasonable cuppa - but not for an Earl Gray cuppa.

I bought a sample pack of 15 Earl Gray from teapig, but I'm going to be placing a larger order for sure.
Pending the arrival of some Bailey's I'll try their everyday brew next.

Chocolate flake tea sounds horrible.

I am intrigued to know what brand your sister has.

Fortnum and Mason's earl grey is really nice too. I do prefer teapigs though....both for the taste and aesthetics!

I'll be there on Thursday so I'll make a better effort at remembering the brand.

I was sent a sample "tea temple" (soooo twee - there's really nothing wrong with "tea bag") of their Peachy Keen brew (green tea with peach) and made the mistake of adding my usual plant-based "MyCuppa" not-milk - which instantly curdled.
It looked pretty nasty as a result but the taste was great, so I'll be grabbing more of those soon. Green tea and peach turns out to be a really good combination, with the sum being greater than the parts.

The Everyday Brew seems a bit strong after all that genteel Earl Gray but it's still a nice rich and complex taste without being a super-strong spoonbender like Assam.

Hush....tea temple sounds better than tea bag.

I've never tried Peachy Keen brew, am tempted now. I'm surprised you drank it curdled.

Yeah, the everyday brew is much stronger than the Darjeeling earl grey - I'm glad you liked it. I think the earl grey strong might make you faint!

I've never heard of that brand of earl grey.
