I think one of the problems can be a loss of enthusiasm. Older people are harder to excite than children. Aspies tend to be young at heart anyway, so maybe a lot of us can remain interested further into our old age. But I've certainly noticed a loss of novelty from activities in general, compared with how I used to feel about them.

While getting older does have some inconveniences, it beats the alternative. :skull:

Best thing I have going in life is that life is just about over. Not upset about getting older.

I've experienced the same. I suspect everyone has.

I actually express enthusiasm much more now that I'm older. When I was growing up, my family tended to disparage or shoot down anything I was openly enthusiastic about, and this made it difficult to express, and maybe even feel, excitement for years after. Now, I don't care much what anyone thinks, and I openly indulge in my peculiar obsessions with great excitement.

There comes a time when a man looks at his life and wonders about things. I have had absolutely no luck finding a significant other in my later years in life. In fact I've had a lot of negative overreactions from women. In Highschool, college and at the begining of Photography School I had very positive reactions from women. I had them asking me out quite a bit. Now it is entirely the opposite. They are very quick to judge me and they judge to the harshest extent. Do I belong here? Should I go back to Nova Scotia? If I don't belong in either places then where do I belong?

Most Girls I have dated have either been mean or nasty towards me. I was lucky to meet a few nice ones though. I've been told I make women feel very uncomfortable. Why such hatred? In 11 years I've come so close but have not had a significant other.
