I was a huge brony, yeah. Still would be if the show didn’t, you know, end. I’ve tried getting into G5, mostly because friends I made from G4 watch it sometimes, but it’s just not doing much for me.

I’m actually a pretty big Equestria Girls fan, and I’m bummed it didn’t get a proper ending like FiM did. My favorite character is Sunset Shimmer (as my profile picture shows), and I like the Dazzlings a lot, too. Fluttershy is my favorite of the main cast. And I also do like Discord a lot. I think he’s the best actual character in the show. Meaning I think he goes through the best character development arc, and best exemplifies the core concept of the show. That being redemption and learning lessons through friendship, and never giving up on anyone no matter how far gone they may seem. He also just has a lot of nuance I won’t go through here.

But yeah, I saw everything G4 had to offer. Including every special and random short. I miss it, but I’m glad it ended. Seasons 8 and 9 were starting to show the cracks of being too long running, I wouldn’t want it to drag on forever and become something like The Simpsons or Spongebob.

I totally agree--we always have G4 ponies on in the background, and I am noticing some serious plot holes appearing in the later seasons! What were your thoughts on the G4 movie? I think it took place between season 7 and 8. I'd say this is a big example of a plot hole--I was so mad that Celestia and Luna made such a big deal about moving the sun/moon in the movie, and refused to move the sun/moon for Twilight's festival! In season 9 they gave her an emblem to let her move the sun and moon, and gave her NO instructions on how to use it (so the sun and moon were going cray in the sky).

Haven’t quite figured out how to quote yet, but for the last response.

I thought the movie was perfectly average. I enjoyed some stuff from it and nothing in it particularly bothered me, but nothing overly stood. I liked Capper and his song. Same with Tempest and her song. The Storm King was a fun villain. I don’t quite remember the specifics of your complaint, unfortunately. For Celestia in general, I do like that the later seasons gave her more of a personality, but it came off as odd. It was sudden after she acted mostly regal before that. And it did make her seem irresponsible at times. Luna acted the same, but she didn’t have as many appearances and she was less mature when she did, so it didn’t seem as odd.

Oh, while it is supposed to take place between seasons 7 and 8, I believe it was written back around season 4. So later stuff wouldn’t have been referenced. Which would solve the whole “why didn’t Discord just solve everything” thing other then the obvious reason of not having a movie. The series usually depowered him in some way around the villains once he developed to the point he’d actively help.

I do remember I went to see the movie in theaters with my friend. The one who actually introduced me to the show, but stopped watching around season 4. He was clearly not comfortable being in public watching ponies, but there was literally no one else in the theater, anyway. I thought it was funny.
