It's a matter of processing, not a physical difference. You won't end up with damaged hearing, just enraged from over-stimulation.

While that is true to an extent, the sound difference still means that the volume is suddenly much higher, so I'm assuming it does do some damage (it's not like I can have it at a lower volume for the rest in case they begin shouting, or I wouldn't be able to hear the rest, then... it's why it's so annoying, as I can only deal with it when it begins...)

I just wish they realized how much nuisance they're causing, at the very least... wouldn't be surprised if some people don't even bother listening due to it, I'm on the verge of giving up for that and some other reasons... could asd rights organizations possibly help?

The sound difference is often a perceptional trick, this video explains it well:

The soft delivery is 8 dB louder than the shouty one, but the shouty one is likely perceived as louder.

So basically, the way the audio is processed can significantly impact how loud one perceives it to be. Sound can even be quieter by an objective measure and still perceived as louder. That's why I say you're at not at risk of physical harm, just annoyance.

Audio in commercials tends to be compressed and brickwalled, which is to say made as loud as possible throughout the entire advert.

Shouting often causes saturation and/or clipping and that will also contribute to the audio being perceived as being louder, even if it's much quieter in terms of peak dB.

Audio in programming tends to have much more dynamic range so the quiet parts can be quiet and the loud parts loud.

I'm sure if ASD rights groups could do something they already would have. It isn't just people with ASD who complain about differences in volume between programming and adverts either.

So, in other words, they're annoying people on purpose... I always imagine an equivalent if I pushed my own interests on a nation instead (and they do say asd people do that...) - I suppose it would be like if I broadcasted loud, anime opening songs at 6:30am (while some are still waking up), but to be as absurd it would be if it was always heavy metal songs broadcast, as only those have shouting elements in them. This is how ridiculous the world of sports is and their mind-numbing fans who insist on forcing everyone else to be tortured just because they happened to like something the day before while they were drunk and likely passed out...

And how is it they're doing anything, I never heard anyone even talking about it... occasionally they have them on these broadcast stations and they never address this topic... even here it's barely discussed, so I'm assuming those with noise sensitivity are in the minority...
