Unless distracted by a Charlie Brown animated video special.

 I'm glad someone got the reference.

Sounds like your pumpkin patch wasn't sincere enough. There's not a hint of hypocrisy in mine, just sincerity as far as the eye can see.

Obviously am believing that one day, will have just the Right amount of sincerity.... :nerdy:  .
Was quite sure , i had it right as some dark shadow.Started to rise up ... with just the right moonlight...
seemed the Planets had aligned for me . After a few moments of this ,watching from the very edge of the patch.
I heard a sound ....HUMPF...now i recognize , it wa s only a howl from a beagle nextdoor that. had invaded my pumpkin pAtch. It was very cold last night.

I live in a flat so we don't really get callers. Our next door neighbour has decorated her flat and I would think all her babies will be dressed up like punkins. So cute. But I don't think they'll be knocking on my door.

Ah right, that makes sense!

We had lots of callers last night.

I've never experienced Hallowe'en callers at my address. Isn't it another one of these American imports? Don't remember it being a UK thing at all when I was younger.

We used to got truck and treating when we were kids. It wasn't a big thing though until probably the last 10 years or something. We just used to knock on doors and demand money. It was the same at bonfire night. Just a way for us to raise funds.

I think it's more of a family thing these days. Little ones get dressed up and go round with their parents.

I don't think any of us had parents when we went round.

'Trick or treat' and the the implicit request for money or sweets has been around since at least the 1990's in the UK, at least where I am from. I remember doing it from the ages of about 8 until 12 year old, with my younger brother and parents.

It still goes on today, and is more popular than ever.

I feel that the day(s) after Halloween - 'The Day of the Dead' (LINK) observed in Mexico, and parts of Latin America carries a more imporant meaning than Halloween.

Here in California, 'The Day of The Dead' is sometimes mentioned in our local news media.

An excellent LINK: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Day_of_the_Dead
