From my own "List of Grandpa's Codgerisms":
• Good deeds never go unpunished.
• Good judgment comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgment.
• Good looks may open the door, but it takes brains to keep the door open.
• Good luck happens when preparation meets opportunity.
• Growing old beats dying young.
• Honor is measured by those who give it, not by those who receive it.
• Honors will come to you by themselves only if you don't run after them.
• Hope for miracles but don't rely on them.
• Hoping and waiting makes fools out of clever people.

Saving the world was never going to be easy. There are sacrifices that have to be made to make sure we all survive a crisis. Unfortunately, we are led by a status quo unwilling to make those sacrifices and instead would rather sacrifice us to ensure they survive the crisis.

I need to pick my battles & let some things go. Some things are not worth arguing & fighting about. Others tend to care a lot more about appearing correct & right than actually being correct & right. I can not help rid others of their ignorance unless they are receptive to it. Sometimes(or lots of times) in life I need to settle for what I might could realistically have & obtain instead of what I would like.

before you make any decision, try to place your mind into the future about a month after the decision has been made, and perhaps your subconscious mind will uncover faults you missed in your earlier enthusiasm. but the truth is that this is almost impossible for almost all people.

Practice makes permanence not perfect!

If you keep practicing but you're not improving, then take a step back and ask yourself 'why is this the case?'

It may be that you need to learn something outside of your usual scope in order to gain a better understanding of what you are trying to learn. Approach it from a different perspective.

Effort does not always equal success. Different people can have very different strengths & weaknesses. If you keep majorly struggling it may be better to focus on something else you might be better at. This may be very important to kerp in mind when considering colleges & career choices.

• A humblebrag is just one conceited person's attempt to draw attention to what they think is their finest quality.
• Never confuse "possibility" with "actuality"; the mere fact that something may be possible does not make it real.
• Never put your faith in people who put their faith in people.
• The more specific the "prophesy", the less likely its occurrence.
• The person who insists that you trust them is often the last person in whom you should trust.
• Unwritten agreements are not worth the paper that they should have been written on.

Sometimes people will blame you no matter what. If you tell them something might be a bad idea, they'll blame you for not being more supportive. But when you offer advice & things still don't turn out well for them, they'll blame you for not trying harder to talk them out of it :wall: This is NOT anything recent but this has happened to me a bit.

• Ambiguity on your part justifies lack of action on my part.
• As I watch this generation try to rewrite history, one thing I am sure of is it will be misspelled and have no punctuation.
• Attacking the reputations of people who ask questions is a sure sign that the attackers do not know the answers.
• I cannot wait until morals, respect, and intelligence become trendy again.
• I would not need to keep secrets from you if you would just respect my right to privacy.
• It is easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.
• Just because science can not currently explain an alleged event or experience, the explanation does not automatically default to an extraterrestrial, paranormal, or supernatural cause.
