I don't think so. My mom is the opposite of "ladylike" and she barely disciplined me much at all. I got to do all sorts of things when I was little. The secret is not to let your parents know what you did. 
They thought I was a perfect little angel who never broke a rule.
I did turn out to be fairly "ladylike" in appearance and behavior. 
There have been a few significant men in my life who were/are gentlemen and scholars, they influenced my behavior a lot. I'm also inspired by MIL who's very kind and proper.
