Hasn't it already been established that these were knock-off versions of a device long since abandoned by the OEM?
Isn't it already clear that these were booby-trapped devices intended to hit a specific target?

If this happened in Australia then the company would be compelled to call back all their devices (even authentic ones) for checking.

So a sabotaged, known knock-off of a device once made by a company means that all their devices, even those no longer made, are now subject to recall?
