I drink hot black tea with a splash of milk, too. It is pretty much a rite of passage being a British person. I don't drink it often though.

Being British I also drank a lot of tea. In fact I started drinking tea at 10 years old. I think my parents allowed this because it meant I could make them tea.

Later in life I learned that I didn't really like tea. I learned this by trying to cut down on sugar. I can't drink tea without sugar which means I like sugar, not tea.

Coffee I enjoy without sugar.

I'm drinking my first cup of coffee this month.(While my throat is constricted coffee seems to clag me up so much I start blowing bubbles)
I'm nearly out of black tea.... Must put tea on the Chopin Liszt
I can't remember what age I started drinking tea.... But it may have been around the time I tried to wake mum up with a glass of neat gin, so it was probably the same reason ^^^
I never graduated past baby tea... 1/3 milk and 2 white sugars then.... 1 heaped brown now.
Coffee I have the same way.

Yea, I couldn't do without my morning mug of tea with milk and one sugar. Then it's filter coffee for the rest of the day..

I have a cup of tea at 7am then one at about 11.30am and then one about 7pm and that's it for the day

I might have one or two cups more on the weekend or just to be sociable

No sugar for me and just a splash of milk

I have my caffeine usually in zero-sugar/zero-calorie sodas such as Diet Pepsi or Diet Coke.

Wonderful getting to know everyone, over coffee.
Coffee was always my weakness, for those who don't know discussions on other group, some reckon it's enriched with manganese which is why we get headaches when we don't get coffee. With my IBS I switched filter ground for a while and took all my vitamin supplements, just say coffee inhibits magnesium uptake so don't take those with coffee. So now I get mild wish for coffee as opposed to caffeine withdraw.
So cheapie instant is no-no I hate taste now, when I'm working it helps me focus so sometimes have Nescafe at home, not too espresso strong, so it's better quality for same price.

Just incase it helps!!

Ooppss.. this got to be a perserveration for me....After years of drinking coffee ..usually no more than one to two cups ..once in while if in a coffee shop might go over.that. Eventually tracked down a bean grinder at a thift store and cleaned thoroughly.
To grind my own..beans . yes there is a difference in fresh ground. Judging by my tastebuds, but it is subtle.
A SECOND VOTE: For Sumatra coffee, :jester: but found a 50/ 50 mix of Sumatra and Guatamalan Antigua is a lovely brew.
Dark Roasted Sumatra is fine on its own. :thumright: :thumright: And I drink it black ...have heard black is better than with cream ,for ones
health. And not so fond of sweet..but used to use honey ,in my early coffee drinking days. Earthy , woodsy full bodied
might describe that blend . from above . Not All coffees are created equal. :ninja:
(Better to buy fair trade coffees, for the farmers sake.) if available. PS: Sumatra Mandheling is great
Do have a cheap expresso maker from years ago .. Was my goto cappucino maker when home and No urgent things to do. Sometimes Saturday mornings . but cappucino has cream , so just Pour over type brewing of a French Press if feeling special ..No cream, and even the press tastes slittle better with your favourite fresh ground coffee. And those presses are easy to use and show up at thrift stores sometimes . Medium grind beans only. And 5-7 mins before pushing press down on the devise . Enjoy .....Whatever Roasted beans you get. :jester:

Ever being tired but had to finish project? Too much coffee, I'm trying to understand what that affect is, and about some symptoms of caffeine overdose.
Any ideas

.. think caffiene causes a human body to burn calories at a very high rate , during its intial effect ,possibly .
Maybe causes a lack of energy for the body to apply to the brain ? ? Burning up any excess nutrients usually used to support the Brain .....Might try adding a little butter to your coffee..? Butter is high in fats ..and so is the brain.
(Boiling down to a nutritional deficit Maybe ) . Not fond of dairy. But it seemed to help me . And I usually prefer black coffee ....Sugar added to coffee , for taste can also give you empty calories , Quick burn out effect.
Since pioneer days in the USa people added egg shells to coffee . To cut down acid . But accidentally were adding nutrients to their coffee. ..Just my thoughts on this lovely topic . If you can source a powdered health product called DMAE , you may find a longer duration of overall coffee effects , usually without the jitters . DMG powder can have a similiar effects ( look on Amazon ? ) . Both are mild Nootropics . Researched the hec outta these before trying them.
Have used them for in excess of ten years , no issues for me. if you try these are used in microgram amounts in your coffee or your choice of beverage . Like amounts similiar to 5- 10 pinheads . 5 @ first then wirk up to ten. These are not known to be harmful from my reading in using these tiny amounts. But more is NOT better with these.
As usual , Medical disclaimer: Please seek your medical practicioners advise before trying ..New Products in your diet.

https://www.google.com/search?&q=saying ... gar+labels

Phew, that's long link to Google search on sugar labels.
My mom's was diabetic and even when she was younger one glass wine made her say/do crazy things. In last year's she would get sugar whenever she got money and similar issue with behaviour, shortly she went to old age home ND I feel guilty but she required assisted care ND was even rude to the staff there, too.

For tea drinkers, have you looked into what tea bags made of?
