Perseverance.

(Closely tied to the gift of fortitude /courage).

As an adult with ADHD, Autism and mood issues (anxiety and depression) I have a lot of ups and downs. I keep coming back.

Isaiah 11:2-3 (NIV)
"The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—
the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding,
the Spirit of counsel and of might,
the Spirit of knowledge and fear of the Lord—
and he will delight in the fear of the Lord."

1 Corinthians 12:4-11 (NIV)
"There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them.
There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.
There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.

Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.

To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom,
to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,
to another faith by the same Spirit,
to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,
to another miraculous powers,
to another prophecy,
to another distinguishing between spirits,
to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,
and to still another the interpretation of tongues.

All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines."

Thank you for sharing Fenn.
Perserverance can be so important in life.
A friend of mine was very unwell with a chronic condition. Me and her have the same condition as well. I have several conditions and one is autism. However, her dad was a pastor and he used to comfort me as well and said to me we need perserverance and endurance at times in life. I loved it when he her dad said that to me and I like it now when you wrote it and know how true and needed and what a gift it is as well.

Thank you for sharing.

I sit down wondering sometimes how some people can cope without any support at all. Some of us have tougher rides than others. Still though, anyway.

Hi, Miss Rachel. :)

Is this the relevant Scripture... 1 Cor. 12:8-10?

8 To one is given through the Spirit the expression of wisdom; to another the expression of knowledge according to the same Spirit;
9 to another faith by the same Spirit; to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit;
10 to another mighty deeds; to another prophecy; to another discernment of spirits; to another varieties of tongues; to another interpretation of tongues.

I'm afraid there seem to be few Christians on these forums. Your thread is a very interesting one, even if it has received little attention so far.

To answer your questions, I believe my gift to be Faith (I have known of God's existence since late toddlerhood, despite growing up in a secular, unchurched family).

How does it work in my life? It is everything, it is everywhere; I am thankful for every experience I have, even if I cannot immediately see the benefit. I am hopelessly optimistic.

I read the Gifts and do not believe I have any in abundance, but I think all are available to everyone at times and can be developed through practice. Discernment of spirits is an interesting gift to read about in the Bible and establishes a Biblical basis for scrying as practiced by the devout Dr. John Dee.

I foresee things that protect me often, particularly from the manipulation of others. It is what protects me in relationships, when I am vulnerable. Now a problem arises if emotions get too high, that the Thinker disregards what is foreseen, disregards the insight given, in order to persist in an unhealthy relationship, in which a neurotypical is attempting to manipulate the Thinker for his or her own ends.

I used to do Tarot readings sometimes to achieve clarity in prophecy, but stopped doing them simply because I don't want to know what lies in the future & am not terribly interested in that. Perhaps it has to do with age and sensing there isn't a ton of time left to fulfill any good prophecy, and that the Death card might have actually a literal interpretation.

Thank you for sharing. What you posted was interesting. This is the first post I have seen with your name I believe and know nothing about you. I don't know if you have a faith or any at all. We can all start at a basic premise. Perhaps you agree we are all humans and have a creator. I am a Christian but there is a basic premise. Now I am saying this as I observed a couple of things. You have gifts for sure. However, you said you do not have them in abundance. So, my question is have you been baptised as Christian as these gifts are for Christians and for the church. However, with people with conditions as I have seen with myself that doesn't mean I need to be attending all the time. It was more to take care of me it seemed as your post seems you also suggesting as well.
