Michael Shanks just wasn't as good at pulling off the somewhat absent-minded professor bit as James Spader was.

Piggy, an obese, asthmatic boy with myopic vision, clings to civilization and refuses to adopt the new, less structured way of life. His physical weaknesses are preyed upon by the other boys, particularly Jack, but Ralph learns to depend upon Piggy for intellectual guidance.
Piggy's glasses, his only contribution to survival on the island, become a major focal point in the movie because of their ability to light the signal and cooking fires. Piggy's name parallels the wild pigs that are hunted on the island and also reflects his superior intellect.

Samantha Carter, she's an out-of-this-world soldier.

Abel Nightroad

Series: Trinity Blood

Who he is: A priest who works as a special agent for the Vatican. Though many of the other characters are unaware of it, he is a Crusnik, an amazingly powerful type of vampire that feeds on the blood of other vampires.

Why I like him: He's very kind and gentle. Also... look at him. He's really freaking adorable.


Alucard

Series: Hellsing

Who he is: A vampire of extraordinary power who works for the Hellsing Organization under the command of his master, Integra.

Why I like him: I admire his strength and I find him rather handsome when he isn't wearing his fedora and sunglasses.

Haven't watched any lately, but I used to have a routine of getting sauced and watching Adult Swim on Saturdays.

(Before anyone goes off because it is broadcast-form, dubbed, etc....I know I know I know. I've spent countless dollars on DVDs of other series for that very reason. )

I lke Rip so much better though.

The Doctor, aka Doctor Who, aka Doctor John Smith.

A time-travelling alien, the Doctor has recently been called 'Superman with Aspergers'. While by human standards he is eccentric, he is also a moral being who works to right wrongs and fight injustice, even if it meant going against his own people's law of non-interference. A maverick, he hides darker emotions, especially now that he is the shell-shocked survivor of a Time War. Yet he rarely uses violence, and in fact uses his own intelligence to defeat his enemies. The Doctor, in travelling throughout time and space has had many companions, the admiration of many worlds, and the emnity of many others. He retains a soft spot for Earth and humanity, and often travels through Earth's history. Because of his unique physiology as a Time Lord, he can 'regenerate', that is, when injured fatally, he can rejuvenate and rearrange the cells of his body, giving him a new body, and often, a distinct personality with each body.

Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious

Palpatine is a major antagonist in Star Wars fiction. Born on the planet Naboo 82 years before the events of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope (1977),[2] he is a key politician in the Republic who claims to represent peace and democracy. In reality, Palpatine is Darth Sidious, a powerful lord of the evil Sith sect who practices the dark side of the Force. He initiates and manipulates the Clone Wars to destroy the Jedi and usher in the totalitarian Galactic Empire. Palpatine's Sith apprentices include Darth Maul, Count Dooku, and Darth Vader.



My favourite Star Wars character.

Rip is undeniably cool. But Alucard's secured his spot as my top favorite from Hellsing.
