Kefka vs Sepiroth

I seem to have a knack for killing threads, don't I.

Yeah, he has a supernova attack which takes about 2 minutes to watch. And he uses it several times throughout the match, and you watch the exact same animation each time. It's a pain in the ass.

OK, that's annoying. But then, most RPG's have set animation for attacks that you watch over and over. But your right, an attack that takes two minutes to watch is very annoying.

Funny, I don't see it usually more than once or twice.

This is a topic very near and dear to my heart, as I firmly believe that Final Fantasy VI is the best Final Fantasy ever. That said, Kefka could kick Sephiroth's emo ass any time, any place. No contest. Kefka is awesome.

Kefka has the better magic, but an interesting question is wether Sephiroth could withstand it. He is very durable, no? Is Kefka? I'm no expert. Opinions, please.

I hate Kefka's concept art and 3D renderings though. His sprite is superior, in terms of suiting his character. Same goes for the rest of the Final Fantasy VI characters.

The Final Fantasy VI sprites are very good at laughing.

Sephiroth. Kefka's motives were so generic. He just wanted to destroy the world because he's crazy, and for some reason, he gets tons of praise for that. No other RPG villain would be able to get away with that. Sephiroth, at least, had a better reason to destroy the world than "lol he's crazy".

Some people claim to like Kefka because he was the only Final Fantasy villain to accomplish his goal. However, Kefka's plan was so simple. All he had to do was move some magic statues around, and then he became a "god" (using the term "god" loosely).

If you look around, you'll notice that no one actually likes Kefka because he's a good villain. They like him because he's a funny villain. He's still incredibly shallow compared to Sephiroth, so he loses my vote.

You know why Kefka would own Sephiroth?

Because he's the only FF villain who has succeeded. (If only temporarily.)

No, Ultimecia managed to pretty much destroy the entire universe.

Good point. While we are talking about just Kefka and Sephiroth, we can look at Ultimecia. In her scan during the very last battle, it is said that she is "transformed to absorb all time and space. Absorbing all existence as we speak." Note that Kuja also comes very close, or even succeeds, in destroying the world in Final Fantasy IX, and Sin's reign of terror in Final Fantasy X has been going on for centuries.

Kefka was a good villian, but i opt for Sephiroth. The Japanese would never let Sephiroth lose to Kefka. They have too much of a hard-on for him.

At the rate of this battle, Sephiroth may as well be the dirt on the bottom of Kefka's boots, or the dirt stuck to that dirt.
