3 beats out 2 for me just because the slide was that awesome and was so much of an improvement on the game in terms of the user's ability to dodge attacks.

now you could stand a change to pretty much beat the entire game with just your regular buster.

lets not forget Rush. Though 4 was what did it for me. Introduction of the charged megabuster is what made it great

4 has some badass music too. you hear that theme when MegaMan is riding the train in the intro you get pumped up, like "hell yes!"

Long live Megaman the Wily Wars for Sega Genesis, all the first three Megamans!

I played through Mega Man 1 through 8 on the Anniversary Collection for Gamecube. I liked Mega Man 8 the best. Mega Man 2 is probably the best of the NES games in my opinion. I played through it many years ago when it was new.

Dr. Wily is the toughest in Mega Man 7 for the SNES.

I was surprised when I replayed all these a year or two back on the Playstation 2 how much progression there was between games. I loved the suit-upgrades in Mega Man 6 especially.

My favorites are probably 6, and 2. 2 was the first one I played, and the metal blade is still probably the best Mega Man weapon ever, since it's the only weapon in the series that can be used as a normal weapon.

I actually dislike the charge attack, as it means you have to hold down the 'b' button all the time.

I wish the newer games were better. Megaman Zero on the GBA and DS are WAAAAAAAAAY too hard for me.
