Wait, Red Sox fans are supposed to hate the Yankees with the intensity of a thousand suns. If you can possibly hate them "twice as much" you clearly don't hate them enough. This Autism Speaks incident is merely another reason why I hate the Yankees (remember, Red Sox fans still hate Wade Boggs, Roger Clemens and Johnny Damon for being traded to the Yankees. In fact, the only player to have played for both teams who isn't hated by either's fans is Rickey Henderson and this is because he played for like every single team during his career).

As a Red Sox fan, I don't hate the Yankees. I don't even hate the people in charge of them. I do, however, heavily dislike them.

Also, Johnny Damon didn't get traded. He signed with New York as a free agent. However, despite this, he is still heavily-liked among Red Sox fans, including this one.

Yeah, but he went from playing with the Red Sox one season to the Yankees the next. He's - to steal a gag from Stephen Colbert - on my "Dead to Me" board (he'll go back to simply being "On Notice" when he leaves the Yankees).

I also don't "hate" the Yankees (as hate includes at least some admission of fear, and certainly don't fear the Yankees). I meant to put "immense dislike" by the word "hate" made that one sentence flow better.

I'm also a Yankee fan. Oh dear. I know that the organization, like many others who support Autism Speaks, is probably just clueless, but it's still cringe-worthy. I would write them a letter and say that this will stop me from buying tickets and merchandise...but I'd be lying.

Could anyone tell me why so many people dislike (understatement) Autism Speaks?

I stopped following the Yankees when Arod was signed. That's when I realized the Yankees were heading for the shitter (as you can see, that prophecy came true...)
